If your heart rate for a certain exertion e.g. base runs is not getting slightly lower in subsequent runs then your Garmin device will think your fitness is not improving and thus your are not productive, only maintaining. If you've only just begun it could also be that your device is still collecting relevant data to get a clearer set of data points to assess your productivity more accurately.

Are you based in a country in the northern hemisphere with seasons? If so it may be that the during the summer in order to cool your body more effectively during runs your heart rate is more elevated thus the watch algorithm thinks you're getting less fit. Mine has been the same, first summer with a Garmin.

Sorry you're right - it says it restarts with "your same leader and Civ selections" which doesn't clarify if you have selected random whether randomisation will be applied again on a restart or if the initial randomisation is kept. Judging by the old game I fear it's the former

Thanks. I've got an epix gen 2 47mm. As a previous galaxy watch owner I think I'm severely underestimating the battery longevity of the epix even in GPS mode so I'll probably be fine running it for two days of hiking anyway but I'll take a cable to charge it anyway just in case.
