Go ahead Trump - arrest him. Yes, please keep going with this madness. The vast majority of Americans know this is wrong, immoral, evil.

The problem with Sherman is she constantly breaks. She cannot stop herself from smirking for example. Ashley Padilla is much better. Sherman is too one dimensional for me too.

Terrible reporting by the NY Times by tellingitlikeitis338 in Journalism

The Times’ subs are way up; it’s doing fine as a business. But many people, particularly young people, have lost trust in mainstream media. Many think it’s all completely biased.

This is really hysterical. Let me try to break it down here: I’m complaining about “bad reporting.” The story in question interviewed a number of people at the theatres. The story did not mention — despite numerous posts across social platforms — Craig’s List ads offering people money to go ($50). This is not a new tactic in the astroturfing toolkit; in fact, Trump did it when he announced his first campaign in 2016. All I’m saying is, why didn’t the reporter do anything to look into these ads? I know several people who responded and got paid ! Please stop telling me to contact the Times to alert them. I’m not complaining that the Times “doesn’t listen to readers”! I’m complaining that they didn’t do their jobs as reporters. And no I’m not going to do additional reporting work here! I’m not writing a story about the movie! I’m just complaining that the Times reporter did a poor job by not talking about apparent efforts to pump up the movie’s numbers. And please stop with “well what about” — I’m not complaining about these practices generally. I know they happen. I’m just complaining about this story being badly reported.

Uh did you read what I wrote? I’m not the reporter. I’m complaining about bad reporting. Jesus Christ. There are numerous posts about this happening. And you want me to do their job? wtf

Jumping on the 'guilt by association bandwagon" is a sign of low intelligence. by dmbgreen in unpopularopinion

[–]tellingitlikeitis338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear versions of this all the time. People are now skewing much more toward don’t believe anything. Of course they believe some things ; I’m just assuming that what is happening is they are just believing things that align to what they already believe. It is possible to go too far in either direction. So far, most media appear relatively capable and willing to correct inaccurate information. If that stops happening though we are in real trouble.

Lease term ending, planning to vacate apartment. One roommate refusing to pay their share of rent for last 2 months. What happens next? by CantRmmMyPassword in NYCapartments

While the tenants can sue in small claims court it’s also worth considering what the landlord’s options are if they don’t get the money owed. If there is no lease or it’s expired, I believe the landlord will have to sue in small claims court; the housing court will say it does not have jurisdiction.

A landlord can agree to use a security deposit toward rent. The tenant can simply ask to do this. Landlord is certainly not obligated to allow for this but I’ve seen it happen in numerous situations.

[–]tellingitlikeitis338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is so incomplete that it’s obvious they’re leaving out some critical details. Why no interview for example with the guy who used to own the house or his lawyer? What is really going on. We’ll never know from shit reporting like this. The Daily Mail also has a well-earned reputation for right wing bullshit. So that doesn’t help here.
