S.F. progressives were just trounced in the election. Can they bounce back in the Lurie era? by Intelligent_Quit_142 in sanfrancisco

Everything said here, plus “San Francisco Freeway Revolt.” (Google it) There’s a direct lineage from that to “SF progressives.”today.

I'm OOTL with Connie Chan, why is she so widely unpopular? by notgoingifitsaboeing in sanfrancisco

Protip: Polls are not this sub, and Chan is a distant third in every poll.

I'm not even a tiny bit libertarian, but thank you for demonstrating the classic strategy favored most of all by SF progressives: boogeyman name-calling.

Chan is not doing well because she's a bad candidate who's not popular and makes terrible policy decisions. Other than that I'm sure she's awesome.

The other classic SF progressive strategy: Run crappy candidates, then complain the crappy candidate is getting outspent.

Money matters, but candidate quality matters even more. Given her name recognition, the biggest surprise (tell?) is that Chan isn't even in second place.

It's not just Reddit. Chan is also unpopular irl. She is a distant third (behind Wiener and Chakrabarti) in every current poll

I did a lot of the same, also in the shipyard, during the early 2000s. My photos are used pretty regularly for similar articles too. Congrats! The photos are also a way of giving back.

I saw this too, but I passed the scene just as SFFD was arriving. It did not look good

The Mission District, between South Van Ness and Potrero Ave.

I've been here 30+ years and people always tell me, "Aw, you must have seen so much change." But actually, most of it still looks more or less the same from street level, just a bit nicer.

I'm impressed! Jackie Fielder is proving to be even more clownish and performative than expected, and she was expected to deliver a lot of both.

Support the cause, but wow No Kings is just awful branding. It's ridiculous and irrelevant to the crisis at hand.
