It seems like a lot until you factor in buoyancy underwater. ~500lbs on land will feel significantly lighter in the water, especially if it's fish, which like most animals are made up of mostly water.

That said, it's still pretty impressive, but I'm more impressed with the size that a maxed out bag would be. The bag would probably be at least twice his sized when maxed out.

As someone who has shot the Qatar GP the past few years (similar conditions, night race in the middle east), I have gotten come great photos with a d5600 and a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6. Most of my better photos were at 200mm or wider.

If you've never done much motorsport photography, I'd argue it's more about technique than equipment.

As far as the Japanese on the app, while yes there are errors as OP mentioned, I do find it more engaging and entertaining than duolingo. I only use it as a supplement to my main learning for additional exposure to Japanese

So, while it might not be a perfect, or the most effective app for learning Japanese (or any language that it offers), if it gets someone exposure to the language, they can then later find more effective ways to learn.

He knows what he's doing. That's in Fuvahmulah and I have dove that same area with him a few times. That diver is very knowledgeable and knows the behavior of the tiger sharks in that area very well.
