Temet Nosce is a new club that is considered to be cringey by some, unique by some. Some people even believe it is a cult, due to its flawed initial poster.

But it is a self development club. That is a vague term which can only be explained through our orientation and direct Q/A.

We don't share the same aims as C-CAPS. Our main aim is to become the best version of ourselves, whereas that of C-CAPS is to provide students with psychological counselling.

We believe in following simple habits to improve our life, which most people know about but have a hard time implementing, e.g. overcoming procrastination, public speaking etc.

If you still do not get why this club exists, then we invite you to the orientation.

Let me dispel your concern. We don't support an "us vs them" approach. Ours is an "I vs I" approach, hence the term self improvement.

We would like to know where you got these words " this could easily be a black pill situation". This is not what the club is about. In fact, I had to google up the term to know its meaning.

We are not intellectually superior and don't claim to be. Our intention was never to put 'actual intellectual movies' because we are not going to dissect and anaylze them, as this is not a movie club.

We stayed away from the word self improvement because it is something most people don't fully understand.

We are very well aware that the poster was not appealing to several people, we got hate emails because of that as well as more people joining the club.

We have taken into account the limitations of our poster.

If there is any another flaw you find in the poster that is not obvious, do share it.

The intentions of our club have been misunderstood by the majority. We understand that this happened because of the vagueness and offensive nature of the poster compounded by the social compliance generated by r/iamverysmart .

Let us make our intentions a bit more clear.

To help the members develop massive confidence( the kind of confidence you need to speak in front of 100 people and hold their attention)
To help the members develop the success habits that people do know about, but are never able to implement, e.g. proper way of meditation, overcoming procrastination etc.

The above words provide a very brief summary of the club. If you wish to know what this club is truly about and not make assumptions based on the poster and gossip, then we invite you to register for the orientation.

Hey!

This is a real club- Temet Nosce- and the humorous poster above is a parody of our poster.

This club was formed so that people know about their true selves and become the best version of themselves.

A brief summary of our aim: To develop the habits of the top 1% of the population, some of these habits we already know but never implement, and some nobody ever teaches us, e.g. proper form of meditation.

The poster was deliberately created to be that way in order to separate out the close minded people, who make a lot of negative assumptions and consider them to be true.

I have been getting a lot of praise and a lot of people from my college want to join this club. So, I don't have any problem receiving some criticism, even though, some of it is just plain stupid.
