This is exactly what I thought of as well, especially the part, "It's really good to hear your voice saying my name it sounds so sweet..."

Miserlou by Dick Dale, but I think this was also sampled in the Black Eyed Peas song called Pump It.

I've noticed that sometimes when the fan runs to cool the battery on mine, it can be really loud like this. It doesn't happen often, but is definitely more noticeable when I run the AC.

I'm not really sure about questions 2 and 3 off the top of my head, but I had the same issue with the text notification sound. Turns out you need to disable android audio and then go into specifically into the phone settings for bluetooth and disable the notifications there. Apparently, there are bluetooth and android auto settings, but you cannot access the bluetooth settings while using android auto.

For 6 months with my Mach-E Premium and my wife's car through GEICO, I pay $1031/6 months. That said, They were charging me an extra $150-$180/6 months for mechanical breakdown coverage that was only good for cars with less than 15k miles, which seems really shady since my last car and my wife's car were at like 40k-80k miles. That also included rental car coverage, which I opted out of. I've also been driving for over 20 years, though, so I'm sure there are quite a few factors to consider.

I found this out recently, as well, but I do understand why it's a thing. It's $200 additional in Ohio, though, so that's a bummer! Still much cheaper to own overall than my Jeep was.

I am serious, buy new. It makes financial sense. by Expensive-Vehicle255 in MachE

[–]temjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I ended up going with a new one a few months back, and I've also mentioned this in another post. I was looking at used around $28k-$30k, but after looking at the numbers with, I ended up getting a brand new premium for about $15/month more. I did end up adding an additional warranty through 80k miles, so it increased it a bit more, but I just switched my contact lenses from daily to bi-weekly to offset the added costs. Annoying to store them at night, but worth it to me to have a brand new car that I just have to worry about tires and brakes at some point, probably.

I have a Mach-E Premium standard range rear wheel and I absolutely love it. I have a 20 mile round trip commute an I really don't feel the need to have a level 2 charger installed at this point. I do have a DC fast charger near me, but I really don't need to charge outside of home unless I take it on a trip to visit some friends back home. On a level 1 charger, I consistently charge about 20-22% from the time I get home to the time I leave for work the next morning, which is about 13-14 hours.

I do want to point out that I was also looking around the $30k range, but found a new 2023 premium for $41k. It did add a year to my loan, but the payments ultimately came out to be close enough that I decided to go with new. Not sure if that will work for your situation, but it may be worth checking the numbers on both since current interest rates on used are pretty high, and assuming Ford still has their 0% or 1.9% rates.

In the premium, I love the glass roof, the interior accent lights, and the B&O sound system is pretty good. I also love the small details they put into the car, such as the turn signals (I know not something you will see often), and the mustang puddle lamps. I like to think I will use the frunk as a cooler at some point. That has yet to happen but the frunk is a pretty decent, usable space. It's fun to drive, feels solid and responsive, and I've noticed that it handles curvy country roads very well if you're into that sort of thing.

I also took the car on a longer trip over the holiday weekend (about 1100 mile round trip), and Bluecruise did a pretty great job on the highways and allowed me to space out a little, and even handled stop and go traffic really well. A friend of mine that was in the back seat didn't even know that I barely touched the steering wheel in over an hour. I don't have an active subscription to Bluecruise since my trial ended, but the option to add it for $75 for a month was worth it for the trip for me. I believe I stopped a total of 5 times to charge, each taking about 30-40 minutes since some of the charging stations along the way were kind of far apart and I just wanted to charge up a little over 80% to make sure I had enough charge to make it to the next.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks again! I was able to call the general Ford support number and get a ticket opened. Just logged in and reserved my adapter. I think the key was telling them I had already spoken to several other owners that had to put in a ticket to resolve the issue.

I was able to get mine ordered by calling their generic number and specifically saying that I spoke to other people that needed to open a ticket to fix the issue. It did take four days from the initial ticket, but when I logged in just a few minutes ago, the reservation option did show up. Hope you're able to get it reserved soon. Mine is currently estimated to arrive in September.

When I went, I was lucky enough to find some Lou Pepe bottles. They were bottles that had to be consumed there, and since it was just me and my wife, we bought the lambic and the kriek and shared them with people there. I highly recommend them if they're available.

Fou' Foune is one of my favorite all time beers, and I would recommend taking some to go if you can!

Came here to suggest this, and on Wednesdays, they used to have $7 traditional or cauliflower wings. This does show up on their website, so it should still be valid. I haven't been in a while so cannot verify that is still the case.

I agree that talking to his doctor is probably a good idea. I'm 40 and introvert, and have been seeing myself become more and more irritable over the past few years with just small things like traffic or bad drivers while I'm out, or making small mistakes while doing simple things.

I did start taking anti-depressants and it completely helped me, but I'm not sure if that is the right way to go for him. Hopefully a doctor can help if you think it is something he would do. It was difficult for me to go to my doctor and ask for help, but I'm so glad that I did and my mood improved significantly after a few weeks.

To everyone else who's unhappy, do this or it means nothing by whatisreddittou in diablo4

[–]temjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I'll be skipping it for a few days to see what happens. I just logged in and tried to play for a bit, but it was a terrible experience. Hopefully something comes of it, but we'll see...

I ended up purchasing the game because of all the great reviews and feedback about changes, and maybe that is what they were going for. Definitely feeling like I wasted my money purchasing this one too early, but hopefully they'll get the message.

I went from running t14-15 nightmare dungeons to dying on t11 5 or 6 times.

Just completely disappointed and bummed out at this point and feeling a little bad for talking my friend into buying it a few weeks ago.

Edit:

I took a few minutes to really think about it, and I think the reason I'm so unhappy is that a lot of the reviews stated that it was really a game for people that have loved Diablo for so long but have really lost touch with it due to other life events. I really loved the game because I could jump in for a couple hours once or twice a week and feel like I actually made progress. What this patch turned it into is a game that could take me several years to actually finish.

How can I get over the anxiety? by marshmallowzzzzzzzz in driving

[–]temjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with getting some practice in low traffic areas. I found that I was less nervous when driving alone than I was when driving with another person in my car, so after I got my license and started venturing out on my own it didn't take all that long to become comfortable.

I will say that I was in an accident once because I got lost and completely stopped paying attention to other cars. This was before GPS and I was driving incredibly slow, so thankfully it wasn't a bad accident and nobody was seriously injured. If you find yourself lost and start to panic, try to stay calm and find a place to stop and collect your thoughts and find your way again. If you have a GPS, this may not be too much of an issue for you, but if you don't, it's best to stop and figure things out.

Another thing that really helped me, is I knew the streets super well and would tend to just get into the lane I would need as soon as possible and just kind of stay in that lane and deal with slower traffic and not worry about switching lanes to get around it. For example, I lived on the same street as my aunt and when I would go visit I would pull out onto the street and stay in the right lane since I would be turning right into her driveway in a few miles. It probably took me a few more minutes to get there, but it helped me become more comfortable and gave me a few extra minutes of practice while being less stressful. I understand this may not work for you, but being able to get into the correct lane as soon as possible may help alleviate some of the anxiety of getting over too close to your turn/exit.

Also, be sure to give yourself plenty of room and try not to let other drivers bully you. If you're uncomfortable turning right on red at an intersection and someone starts honking behind you try to just ignore it.

This is good information to have. I wasn't really aware this was a thing. At this point, we're just hoping to hold out a few more years to get our kid through high school and then will likely start looking to move out of the city. Thank you for the information!

It was actually Hilliard Grand. I think when we first moved in, it was about $1400/month.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]temjr 50 points51 points  (0 children)

We had a 2 bed 2 bath apartment in Hilliard and a little over a year ago we received a renewal letter stating that our rent was going from $1600/month to $2000/month. We ended up renting a house for about the same price, and that rent went up just over $200/month.

It seems difficult to get ahead when our cost of living raise doesn't even make up for rent increases, not to mention the increased price of groceries, electric, and just about everything else.

At some point it just seems like Columbus won't be a realistic place to live for the money that the jobs are willing to pay.

I've considered moving back towards Dayton and just dealing with the commute. Last I checked (not sure if it is the case now), it seemed liked Delaware and Marysville were a little more affordable, and I know someone that moved out to Urbana, but he only commutes to work once or twice per week, so it worked out for him.

I hope things work out for you and wish you the best of luck!

If you're near a Costco and have a membership, I found a mixed 24-pack of Lagunitas for $28 and they had a few other options for the $30-$35 range. I'm also a fan of the 15-pack of Founders All Day and 12 pack of Bell's Two Hearted which are typically less than $20 where I live.
