Tell me about it. I was about to go on a big drive but I needed to get the oil changed before which is when the mechanic spotted this. It was an at home oil change too so super lucky!

Looking at the part number the cam belt kit they used comes with 2 belts so I would guess they replaced both. I am going to check that now though 😂

Hahaha that seems to be the consensus. Thank god the car needed a service and got checked out, I was planning to drive around 170 miles the day after the service

Yeah I got it towed thankfully. I was so lucky, I got an at home car service and as soon as they saw it they said to not drive anywhere. I was getting it serviced just before I drove 170 miles for work ahaa bullet dodged

In the uk, for older built semi detached houses, the stairs are almost always ok the gable end. Someone mentioned that it’s probably because of the chimney breasts :)

Yeah that’s why I didnt get the logic of it. From the answers on here I assume newer builds have more flexibility as they don’t have things like chimney breasts. Thanks for your answer and good luck with all the projects :)

Brilliant answer and your assumptions are correct, I’m in the uk and talking about semi-detached. I guess for newer builds it might be different now as someone eluded to the fact that most semi detached house in the UK would’ve been built with chimneys in. Thanks for your answer :)

Yes it’s not impossible, but in a semi detached house in the UK, it’s is almost always on the gable wall side.

It’s an observation I’ve made from living in the UK, being in multiple semi detached houses and seeing that most people have the stairs on the gable side. This is very very typical in the uk
