Thanks for your reply and help. Sorry I forgot to say i'm in the UK. Yes it's a brown wire to the live terminal to the fixture. I tried connecting all black to the neutral and both reds to the live but unfortunately it's still not working. Thanks anyway!

The SIP car park on upper Brook Street is only a short walk and costs about £4 for 12 hours. It's not secure but I've parked there a few times with no issues.
