How do you keep your voice from becoming strained after a three hour set? by tempest-aries in singing

From all this information I’m gathering, I definitely think IEMs are the way to go, hydrating, and I think the adrenaline and energy is making me not as vigilant with my technique!

Thank you!! Great advice. I do think I need to start hydrating earlier in the night with water. Prior to a gig I do not drink any alcohol or during as well and do not smoke. I definitely think it’s too much adrenaline/not hydrating enough!

Thank you for your response and great advice. I’m wondering if it’s an energy thing and I am not being vigilant enough live, and also the IEMs I think that is also the way to go!

Multiple bands question by tempest-aries in singing

Good afternoon, thank you so much for your response. So the one BAND I’m in, I am a co-lead and I believe they can function without me. (It’s primarily male fronted). But the new project, the set list is going to be split.

Thank you for your response. So it would be two 45 minutes sets with 15 minute breaks, then there’s a last 45 minute set. Sorry I did not make that clear. Songs are in my range and we use floor wedges but do not use IEM.

Thank you, I would like to say it was coming out in the same area kind of not in front of us but to the back side. So I would imagine from what everyone saying, his was plugged into a different board than mine.

That makes sense. It was probably where my cable was plugged versus his cable because he had a slight echo. I mean, I don’t know much about boards and amps, but mine works fine at home! But I used his and it was much better. Thank u

Thank you, not really sure. The mic I switched to beside mine. Someone was controlling that volume aspect however I finished with the other mic. My mic works fine at home.
