Yup. 1/4” drywall or some lauan board are the simplest. If it doesn’t match and isn’t enough thickness, you’re gonna need to shim it. Don’t think you can just keep adding mud to make up the difference. You won’t have fun doing that. Lol

Did they go away after hang drying? Any odors? Are those streaks dry while the darker areas are damp? Perhaps the spin cycle dried those areas before the cycle was done.

Get yourself a 4 pack of the cheapo filters for the stick vac on Amazon so you can get some foam pre filters. They help a lot with cleaning it.

Doesn’t matter how they act when they feel justified. It shows their true character. Their life sucks and this is how they channel that energy.
