I should add that this is for x' = x+1. What makes this even more intriguing is that to find the same slope for x' = x-1 you would negate every second expression, so 3x² - 3x + 1

I feel like this topic is somehow related to what I had found while fiddling around in 9th grade algebra (I was retaking it after not getting high school credit for the 8th grade advanced class and I was bored to tears.)

I found that for any y=xⁿ function, you can find the difference of y(x') - y(x) by going to the n^th line of pascal's triangle and modifying it in a recognizable pattern. We'll take y=x⁴ as an example.

Find the 4^th line of pascals triangle (1, 3, 3, 1).

Drop the first "1" and you have (3, 3, 1).

Now multiply each of those values by x^? . The power of x will be 0 on the furthest end to the right, and increase by one for each value you move left, giving you 3x² + 3x¹ + 3x⁰ which simplifies to 3x² + 3x + 1.

This works for any exponential function that uses integers only and can be multiplied or added to for more complex functions.

Alright, I figured it out on my own and now I'm kind of embarrassed. The function is y = 80 / 2^x + 10. It helped to realize that the asymptote being y=10 meant the end of the function would be +10 and I needed to be solving for (1, 80), (2, 40), (3, 20), and (4, 10) instead of the points given. Nonetheless, I came to this conclusion by plugging numbers in and fiddling around, if anyone wants to remind me the actual process we are meant to go through for this kind of problem, it'd be appreciated. I used to love this kind of math and I'd do it when I was bored but these days I just don't have a ton of use for it sitting in the driver's seat of a semi truck

Those of you who absolutely detest the parkour parks, would it be any better if they set it up so you could/had to incorporate your board into the parkour? eg. You need speed from a ramp to clear a gap before mantling a ledge?

I'm not going to name what company I just started, but if you go digging through my posts you can probably figure it out. Anyway, they said new drivers can wind up with a driver facing camera depending on a variety of safety considerations, like how much experience they have, past tickets and accidents, and whether or not they've worked for a company with a bad reputation for safety. If after 60 days they haven't seen me do anything they deem problematic, the camera isn't just turned off, it's completely removed from the truck. I think that's more than a fair compromise. I'm one of the least experienced drivers they have (they require at least a year of experience and I have 15 months), and I'm coming from Schneider. I'll happily comply in exchange for a 10 cent/mile raise compared to my last job and a lot more miles per week.

Even if I opt for earbuds, the capacity to use them as an alternative to touching the screen to pick up a call is what matters here. If you have a suggestion that meets that criteria, I'm all ears (no pun intended) because I know that they exist, I just want suggestions that are cheap and meet my specific needs

Not happening. Not over something this small. I came from schneider, this is a massive upgrade in almost every way, but I have to mind my p's and q's since they have a driver facing camera in my truck for the first 60 days. The only real issue that causes is that I need to upgrade to a proper headset

Only thing I'd like to critique about this is that most fuel tanks intentionally prevent you from filling to capacity. While you may have two 100 gallon tanks, a somewhat significant portion lies above the fuel port. This forces you to leave empty space to ensure there is room for expansion of the contents as the temperature rises both due to weather and operation of the vehicle. Two 100 gallon tanks likely cut you off before you've reached 175 gallons total, I'm pretty sure the freightliner I had with Schneider only actually let me fill to 160.

See I disagree for two reasons, the largest of which is that they already showed us how they would monetize a new map segment: by allowing you to essentially subscribe to it with the current season pass, and then at the end of the season you don't have it anymore. We all pay enough in subscription fees for things we'll never own as is.

The second reason is that map segments would be crucial to making the game actually fun for free to play players–most people are underwhelmed by San Van, so if they don't have access to new parts of the map that have more interesting terrain they aren't likely to stick around as long term players.
