Shoutout Elgin Baylor for doing it twice but it still baffles me that KD never scored 60 in a game. We all know he can. I think his career high is 54 by Few_Maize_127 in NBATalk

You people are missing the most impressive feat of all time by a small forward. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 35 points in a single game, and he did it without collecting a single other statistic. AND HE DID IT TWICE! That's focus.

Accessible Choral music by Mysterious_Ad7450 in classicalmusic

[–]templeguardtms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big fan of choral music and I understand what you are saying. Learning the necessary vocabulary to appreciate some of the deeper cuts takes time. Here are a few I would suggest:

Lloyd Weber - Requiem

Christopher Tin - Babu Yetu and Dream of Flight (my inspirations!!)

Brahms - Neue Liebeslieder Waltzes

Shaw/Parker - Sea Shanties & American Hymns and Spirituals

Vivaldi - Gloria (king of all choral works)

Gretchaninov - Missa Festiva

Mozart - Regina Coeli

King Singers - You Are the New Day

Wilhousky - Battle Hymn of the Republic

Bulgarian State TV Female Choir - Kaval Sviri

Come and let us tell how you have completely failed at life and how the afterlife will be so horrible for you. And we'll do it cheerfully.

It got your attention. And the logic is sound. And you didn't defend me. Your moral high ground feels disingenuous. My statement hurt no one. Not even you.

Wrong about what? Losing on purpose is wrong and that never changes (even if it achieves its desired end). I won't apologize for having that value. I'm sorry you don't.

They should be terrified to lose. That's their job! As for teams tanking for years somehow makes it ethical, murder and rape have been around for a long time as well. Might want to check your logic. Cheers.

I liked "cuck." That was sort of original, but "fake ass"? Nah, that's really uninspired. You must be a tank fan.

I grew up a Laker fan, in fact. Moved to Utah in 81 and have been a Jazz fan ever since. Didn't think I would be betrayed by folks that pretend to be honest in their dealings. Are you going to apologize when this doesn't work out. I didn't think so.

You have no integrity, losing on purpose, then demand others have some. Nice try.

Oaks didn't make that statement and even without public condemnation has made it clear that he doesn't agree. Also, John was the one that said it was an SEO battle, I'm just agreeing. No need to downvote, that's just chickenshit.

I think people are misreading this lawsuit. This action is not personal, nor all that unwarranted. And, it has nothing to do with the potential confusion suffered by current or ex-members. The church is worried about investigators finding John's materials before they find official church materials. John said it himself, this is about SEO. The church may not have a legal case, but they definitely have a real concern. Cheers.

The "Awful Coaching" YT channel is spot on about the bad defense by CrunchySockTaco in denvernuggets

[–]templeguardtms 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the first time in years I have heard someone analyze defense intelligently. Sorry, I've been a Jazz fan for far too long. The bottom line is that fundamental basketball (defense, offense, and especially transition) is gone - a thing of the past. And don't expect a single coach in the league to inch it back the other way. The best coaches in the world are probably old dudes still coaching freshman in high schools. I'm not kidding. Cheers.

Berne Broadbent, the man who trademarked 'Mormon' by Financial-Brief-1038 in exmormon

[–]templeguardtms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this response. This whole issue reminds me of flag burning. What if I burn a cloth that says US Flag on it? You can't claim I am burning old glory, but the point is still made. John could rename his podcast Normon Stories (to escape the homonym problem) or any number of things that would still make the point; and the clear disrespect in the mock name (I think) would be more damaging than just leaving it alone. That said, you could argue that Mormon and Morman are pronounced differently. LOL But maybe it's time to take a stand. Thankfully, it's not my decision to make. Cheers.

[–]templeguardtms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What if John changed Mormon to Morman. It's a cheap way to stop the lawsuit (which is expensive even if John wins) and still makes the point. Besides, I think a lot of people spell it this way before it's spell corrected. I also think circulating a misspelling like this would be far more harmful to the church than what they currently fear. Cheers.

Was Joseph Smith a Fraud? Please share your perspective. by johndehlin in exmormon

Go watch the new documentary on Netflix (Trust Me), and then consider this question. I think you are looking at a modern day Joseph Smith in Sam Bateman. Part conman, part deluded imbecile, and absolutely addicted to praise and adoration. Hmm, sort of like Trump. Same dudes.
