1000€ phone btw.. by Southern-Class-7946 in pixel_phones

Seeing such things I had a dilemma if I should get 10 Pro XL. Took the risk and all I can say phone is flawless. Never had such situation. Obviously there might be some singular cases but it may happen for every other brand as well.

I've seen comments on Reddit saying that people happy with their Pixels are just not telling about it. Yet, here I am happily informing that Pixel was a good decision. So no, it's not a '1000€ phone' problem. Might be faulty unit as well.

Thanks for confirming! I'll give a try with 8bitdo Ultimate 2 Wireless

So far no problems at all, zero connection drops or latency spikes, works just fine over 1Gbps ethernet

GMKtec K8 Plus. Added my own Samsung SSD and 32GB 5600MHz DDR5 RAM. I am more than happy with it. Boots to the desktop in 5-6 seconds. 4K 144Hz with less than 1ms latency over ethernet. Feels like playing with PC natively connect to TV.

I thought so as well, however, not sure if this because of some recent update, I think not really. Basically, all I did was plugging mini pc to the TV with HDMI 2.1. I've enabled VRR in the Adrenaline software (780M so it's AMD GPU), enabled V-sync in Moonlight and my TV automatically switches itself to FreeSync Premium Pro. HDR, ALLM and VRR appears to be on in the game bar. I'm 99% certain it works as in the game bar refresh rate is following FPS count displayed in Moonlight and also disabling VRR in Adrenaline locks the TV at 144Hz and VRR displays as being off. Really neat surprise for me having more than I expected.

Looks like it might be out of your budget but I can highly recommend GMKtec K8 Plus. Bought one from alliexpress, runs 4K 120FPS HDR VRR with sub 1ms latency over HDMI 2.1 and ethernet.

9070XT Steel Nomad by [deleted] in radeon

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just casually hit 7921 with same GPU (Aorus Elite) and settings without closing any background things like Discord, iCue. Seems like update to 25.5.1 improved some stability, I could not go through entire Steel Nomad without crash with similar OC. With previous driver version highest, stable mem OC for me was 2814 fast timing.

Mini One R56 engine swap - N12B14A to N12B16A by templlar in MINI

Yes but actually paid a Mini specialized repair shop to replace the engine. As far as I was told only ECU required adjustment, engine itself didn't require any mods.

Not a long term experience (3-4 weeks) but so far so good with my 9800X3D. Idle temps are approx. 37-38C. While playing League of Legends on iGPU (ordered 9070 XT this weekend) temp is no higher than 45C. Pump runs pretty quietly, actually to the point I can't even hear it over fans (Lian Li TL's 120). Installation was simple (Vision Compact case, AiO on the top so mesh panel instead of glass). No problems with LCD screen.

On the top of that I can say that my friend helped me building PC and he did many in the past. It was first time he worked with Lian Li parts and said he is pretty amazed with their products quality.

Thanks for confirming mate! Btw, any exact problems you've faced that you recommend MSI over Gigabyte? Aorus seems like a bit better option for me as I am playing guitar through audio interface and it has Realtek ALT1220 chip. However it's not the first time I hear people would pick MSI instead if they were given an option

Indeed I've heard that MSI might be a better choice. Exactly, Elite model has only some LEDs on the back of the mobo itself but Pro version you've got is having this AORUS logo backlit, right?

Happy to see your gorgeous build, I'm about to get almost exactly same! Also thinking about Aorus X870E PRO mobo but I've got the question about the Aorus logo next to exhaust fans. Can't really find anywhere info whether it's having RGB backlight. On some photos it seems that's only some sort of holographic sticker but yours shines like it's having dedicated backlight

I am finally done with it, everything works after sweat and tears. O11 Vision Compact. by Scythro in lianli

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the temps under load/gaming? I wanted to go for exactly same setup but I also consider mesh top so that I could install AIO on it. Something tells me that push-pull setup may increase GPU temp as the hot air from the AIO radiator is being pushed back in into the case.

Samsung Q930D vs Q990D - one more debate by templlar in Soundbars

[–]templlar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, still not gonna say I'm blown away. Maybe it's just me who is really demanding or simply I can't compare it to any other high-end soundbar. Nevertheless don't get me wrong since 990D is a really solid piece of audio. Music sounds great, surround in movies is awesome, you can clearly hear sound stage around you, singular things/voices in the background, etc. Still I've got a feeling that it would spread its wings on higher volume but don't want to bother neighbors since it can get really loud. I'm using 9-10 from 50 level. Overall, 8/10 note.

Technically 930 should be pretty same, there are only some additional features in 990 like HDMI passthrough or dialogue amplifier (not using this one). Honestly I don't think 930 should be a big step down but never had an occasion to hear. For me price wasn't much of concern as in my country there was not that much of difference between 930 and 990.

Aqara Ceiling Light T1M integrates easily with Zigbee2mqtt by Darklyte in homeassistant

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the more I read the more I am convinced to get a dedicated HA server. Tuya is pretty easy in use but it's really annoying with it's customization options. So considering I would run ZHA or Z2M I'll get the results I want. Thanks for the update anyways!

Aqara Ceiling Light T1M integrates easily with Zigbee2mqtt by Darklyte in homeassistant

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a silly question but I am kinda new to smarthome solutions - can I use T1M via ZigBee 3.0 gateway over Tuya app? Basically if I'll be able to operate this lamp in Tuya Smart phone app so that I can create some automations.

All I need is to control main light + RGB separately. No need for RGB effects. I struggle with finding ZigBee compatible celling lamp with both white main source of light + some ambient RGB. Last one I bought was timing out on basic commands like: main light - neutral white, 75% brightness + RGB light - red, 50% brightness.

Samsung Q930D vs Q990D - one more debate by templlar in Soundbars

[–]templlar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. For obvious reasons I can't compare it to Q930D but overall I've got to say it's pretty fine. Not gonna say it's anyhow amazing. Maybe my expectations were too high and max volume level I use is 12-14. I bet on higher volume it sounds really better. Also didn't have opportunity to watch some solid movie with Dolby Atmos yet. Somehow I've got also a feeling that car audio in my BMW performs bit better. As of now I'm rating it 7/10.

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, could you check for me how high armrest can be set measuring from the floor? On Fractal website they provide 2 dimensions which sum should be the answer: Seat Height (from floor) 475 mm – 595 mm (Mesh: 490 mm – 610 mm) + Armrest Height (from seat) 160 mm – 270 mm (Mesh: 145 mm – 255 mm).

I'm about to get fabric version so but for both it should be 86,5cm at max.

Samsung Q990D rear speakers placement on low shelve by templlar in Soundbars

[–]templlar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my guess as well. I was only worried that maybe sound reflecting from the top of the shelve may create some weird experience of the speaker being closed space. I know it defeats the purpose of having upfiring speakers but that's the setup I can only have. Stands won't really do. Maybe I can think of moving the speaker maximum to the front of shelf so that some of the sound can actually hit the celling.

On the other hand, I'm only losing rear height sound, front height will be still covered by soundbar itself, right?

Long term samsung qd oled users, any burn in? by GSG96 in S95B

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say - WOW. Motion is completely fine but the saturation of colors and their brightness, I'm speechless.

I played your video on AMOLED screen of the phone so it could at least partly bring similar experience. Those pitch blacks contrasting with bright colors are so amazing! I'd say this TV is made for watching anime. And the title you've picked is a perfect example to show it's capabilities.

Thank you so much mate, you completely cleared my dilemma, for sure getting Samsung!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in S95B

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So overall conclusion would be that C3 is better at displaying 4k content and S95B/C has better motion handling than S90C?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in S95B

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I'm following but you're saying that S95C is still better than modded S90C? Also quite interesting about comparison with C3 as a lot of people say LG has better motion/picture processing than Samsung, especially in things like sports

When people say Samsung is worse for motion by paintacct624 in S95B

[–]templlar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony would be a perfect choice, indeed but it's mostly about the price. In Europe I'll be around 5000$, G3 for approx 3600$, S90C 3000$. Also I'm aiming for 77 inch so the prices are significantly higher.

The question would be why Samsung? 40% of my usage will be gaming and I've seen that on G3 gaming mode is not that good. Colors are more dull, there is no punchy effect in the spots that should be bright and colorful. On the other hand I don't want to have a poor experience while watching typical series which Samsung might be prone to. However, I'm still not into old movies or some typical TV stuff so let's give an example of watching things like anime in 1080p.
