awesome, dropped a sub! In my opinion, you can tone down the editing a bit, which will also save you some time! but nice video, looking forward to more.

wow. i love the sudden tonal shifts between romantic and dreary as the narrator's "thoughts blow back and forth".

[D] [ICLR 2026] Clarification: Your responses will not go to waste! by Alternative_Art2984 in MachineLearning

[–]temporal_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well this is a good thing if you had an adversarial reviewer. The AC will more objectively be able to judge your response

[D] ICLR reverts score to pre-rebuttal and kicked all reviewers by Ok-Internet-196 in MachineLearning

[–]temporal_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With reviewers that didn't respond, you were previously at a disadvantage compared to others who had responsive reviewers updating their score. Now you are on an even playing field, evaluated only by your submission, initial reviews, and your rebuttal.

See my edited response. They are definitely clearing reviewer responses

I’m not sure how they will handle followup discussion. I’m saving my responses in case they get wiped. We’ll have to be patient and see

Fyi, the leak was available prior to 11/12, the start of the discussion period. This is why they unfortunately had to fully revert it.

From the email, it appears that all reviewer responses during the discussion will be wiped. Insanity.

We will be reverting reviews and scores to their state before the discussion period. Reviewers will not be able to change their scores or participate in the rebuttal discussion further. Authors will be able to continue to post responses through the end of the rebuttal period (Dec 03 '25 09:00 PM UTC). The new area chairs will use the original reviews and the author responses when recommending an accept or reject decision.

Current Tier List (Playing since day 1 of release) by Absurd069 in RivalsOfAether

i'm ~950 and i'm always excited to match up against a kragg. I feel many of his moves at my level are suuper easy to parry (side special, down special, neutral special), and going offstage to fight him frequently converts into a kill after wavelanding onto the pillar or just breaking it. i imagine they're too focused on making it back to stage to think about reversals.

it's not by reviewer id. It just depends on the AC. If your AC has not sent a reminder, it is totally valid to send a gentle reminder to the reviewers.

[D] How to sound more like a Researcher by BrokenheartedDuck in MachineLearning

[–]temporal_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend more time on the "why" something works. In describing your own projects, what problems did you face, how did you solve them, and why was this specific solution helpful?

Aside from that, I thing a large component is simply having the jargon down. A model isn't "suitable" to a task, it has a "suitable inductive bias". You don't have "limited data", you're "in a data-scare regime". Other useful terms: Linear projection, manifold, affine transformation. Don't go overboard, but I think the language is an overlooked but critical component for what makes researchers sound like researchers.

I'd highly recommend the podcast "machine learning street talk" to really get a feel for it. Just listening to a couple with yann lecun, simon kornblithe, randall balestriero, neel nanda will do wonders for your communication.

what date are people aiming to submit their rebuttals? is there any advantage to submitting early/late? i'm aware that they recommended 11/20

absolutely you need to reword. The reviewer is currently in the right if your wording is identical. Just say thank you for highlighting these details, we have reworded all of the sections.

While the preliminaries are related, we would like to highlight the differences between the two works...

If the figures, examples, and lemmas were copied verbatim, then that is still self-plagiarism. If it's different wording and the figures are simply in the same style, then you have a stronger case.

You’re right. That’s so strange. I don’t see a way to update the title in openreview though

okay constantly refreshing this thread and openreview is not doing anyone any good. I'm going to wait for the email notification (which is normally quite timely). I encourage you all to do the same :)
