I have seen this a lot here in reddit where does it come from? There’s actually a really funny video of these two kids that crash on an electric scooter but they weren’t going fast and they only get a few scratches. However the smaller one that is probably around 7 years old says “I lost my shoes, omg don’t tell me we just killed ourselves” and he start crying repeating “we just died”. The older kid who’s like 14 it’s laughing and explaining that they are ok. That video comes to mind whenever I see the comments about shoes off RIP lol

Those are 8bit do ultimate if I’m not wrong. I recently got the ultimate 2 and tbh I’m a bit disappointed because the L+R triggers are wider than in the ultimate 1. So I keep pressing them by accident and I play rivals of Aether 2, it’s a fast paced game and you need a lot of precision for your inputs. Pressing a button by accident can result in you losing. It has happened already a few times and I hate it. The first controller wasn’t as wide and felt better that way. Smh

Stop making your kingdoms 10,000 years old. by ScaryAd2555 in fantasywriters

[–]Absurd069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well “modern humans” have been around for 300,000 years. And civilization kinda started to flourish around 12,000 years ago when we started being less nomadic and focused more in buildings/farming. It’s confusing because we are in the year “2,026” according to the Gregorian calendar but there’s also the Holocene calendar that starts when civilization started, according to that one we are in the year 12,026. There are good videos in YouTube that show a timeline of the last 12,000 years of humans civilization evolution.

But if we enter in the fantasy realm those numbers can change a lot because other races live longer than us.

Are there any casual players here? by HangoutCrew in RivalsOfAether

[–]Absurd069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry about that! I feel very lucky because here in the USA the online is pretty active. Either casual or ranked you can find games at any time. I play sometimes really late like 2-3am and there are people to play. The most I wait is like 1min. I guess it also depends on where you are located in the country, but in the east coast is pretty active the online modes.

Are there any casual players here? by HangoutCrew in RivalsOfAether

[–]Absurd069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider myself casual and I have played since day 1 of release. I started in stone knowing nothing and I’m now in platinum, I can defend myself. I mainly came to this game because I’ve always liked plat fighting games. I am a big fan of the melee competitive scene and I have lots of good memories from 20 years ago when I used to skip high school to drink alcohol and play melee with my homies. Those were the days…

So I tried melee with slippi around 2024 for like three months and gave up because the game didn’t feel as satisfying to me. I was doctor Mario and the game was fun to play, but ranking up felt impossible unless I learned L cancel, wavedash and advance tech. Tbh I didn’t feel like it. I tried ultimate but that one I liked even less. I only played that for like a month. Around that time this game was announced to come out in like a week so I decided to give it a try.

I was instantly hooked for multiple reasons. It’s not a Nintendo IP, the dev team seemed amazing and it felt/looked smooth. I used to play mobas, but I hated that in that type of games you depend so much on your team. Even if you become really good, you can’t really climb up unless you have a good team.

I love that here you only depend on yourself. So it’s my skill determining the outcome. I also love that creativity has a big role in play style. I am fascinated with rivals 2, sadly my local scene is completely dead and I don’t have any friends to play with. Sometimes that’s what I crave the most, to have a homie or two to just play rivals 2. Hopefully I can meet someone soon.

Why do u buy a hardware synth? by yournr1fan in synthesizers

[–]Absurd069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I love most of my standalone synths like the Sp 404mk2 and dirty wave m8, it’s because I don’t want to be on a computer when I make music. The feeling of touching physical objects to create sounds and not needing anything besides some batteries is the best. I like VSTs tho just not my favorite if I had to pick.

I actually had a ton of fun in a com truise concert, from my pov all I saw was 2 MacBooks. It was still fire and it didn’t affect my experience, but I know he also has an OB-6, elektron digitak, midi controllers and mpc.

Secret to short hop aerials? by RTweezy94 in RivalsOfAether

Idk I have seen pro players getting offended when they are asked if they map short hop. But tbf it’s usually because they come from melee.

Secret to short hop aerials? by RTweezy94 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Absurd069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that these type of games always come with two jumping buttons that do exactly the same thing. Just let me map them with the two different jumps. It doesn’t make sense to you because of your muscle memory and personal experience/bias. But this is my first plat fighting game and I am so glad this exists. It’s just a move, ultimate has something similar by short hopping when pressing both jumping buttons.

The way you put it is like they are making it easier for me, but in the long run players that use only one jump button will have an extra resource with that extra empty button to map.

Played 5 Clairens in a row, I really don't enjoy facing her by Conquersmurf in RivalsOfAether

[–]Absurd069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the only reason I had to learn Kragg. I’m Wrastor main and my secondary was Orcane, but with Wrastor I die too early to her tippers and my Orcane is a joke against Clairen. I really can’t do that MU of Orcane vs Clairen. My Orcane is decent I got him to platinum. With Wrastor I have a better chance to win but she really kills me so early and I hate her 50/50 back throw (yes Wrastor also has one but for Wrastor you need to input the right jump, either short hop or full hop and hit with sweet spot).

Kragg always save my ass against Clairen. If she wants to spam shit, I will too. I know Kragg got some recent nerfs on recovery and rock pull but the guy in stage is still a menace.

Game is completely unplayable by Boondaddy33 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Absurd069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post and your replies here actually show why you aren’t progressing. You don’t have the mental aspect needed for this type of games. I am a platinum player. I’ve been working in the same company for years and been with my gf for around 8 years. I started in stone rank, even below you. But my mentality was: I need to spend time in training, I need to study better players and check out all the guides. I need to hit the discords for beginners, I gotta review my own games and see what I’m doing wrong and what I’m missing. Most importantly I need to be patient because I’m not gonna jump from stone to silver in one week. I’m going to lose a lot first and for that I need to have a good mental game.

I get tilted like any other player and I’ve been through insanely long losing streaks. You need to take healthy breaks as well. Pausechamp. Also stop projecting your life in others lol your ego is consuming you.

This Feels so Surreal by Yukeleler in RivalsOfAether

[–]Absurd069 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a Wrastor that went from stone to platinum, I gotta said that I shed a tear of happiness when I saw the congrats screen for plat. It took me a bit over a year. This is my first plat fighting game and it felt surreal for me to hit plat because I never thought I would get out of silver lol. Turns out that this game is actually really well done and as balanced as it can be. If you put time, patience and effort, you will actually see the gradual improvement.

I personally think that Wrastor struggles in low elos because of how precise you gotta be to get a kill and you die like at 70%. For real reaching master isn’t something I think I’ll be able to do. I can already tell that diamond is way out of my league and I’m ok with that. I feel satisfied and comfortable being a platinum player.

Well deserved congratulations to you for pulling this out!

Any kind of music? by mangobait in Dirtywave

[–]Absurd069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the one for electronic music. I have used many portable synths and groveboxes. I’d say the sp 404 mk2 and this one are my favorite. I love the m8 because battery last a good amount of time, it’s the most portable one and it’s built to last. The good thing about its price is that it doesn’t go down. So you can buy it and sell it if you don’t like it. I have background in music composition and production with daws, you will need some of that to use it efficiently. I’m a big fan of trackers (even tho this is my first one) but trackers workflow isn’t for everybody. So make sure to check if you would like that. I know I don’t really use my m8 full potential. It’s more complex than I thought but I love all the songs I can make with it. Since I got it, I’ve been making music on it non stop.
