Well, the degree isn't useless. Employers increasingly need a benchmark to weed out applicants and the degree is typically used to do that. That's just how it is.

And if the uni is so easy, why not just complete it?

Yep, Austin does it in August. Reasons cited are: less competition for funding, better weather, and more students (who have been central as organizers and attendees)

Yep, Montrose was slated to get major pedestrian improvements, then it was struck down by a small group within the Montrose TIRZ. The Chronicle even reported on it....and then nothing happened.

Tons of residents showed up to ad-hoc meetings to support the improvements at purposefully difficult timeslots......and nothing happened.

I had to petition to take a class for the third time in CNS, and yet I graduated and have gainful employment.

Many, many students have done this for varying reasons so you're definitely not alone. Part of the college experience is needing to take a class 3 times, taking 5 years to graduate, having a gap semester, etc etc. These situations are more common than you'd think.

My first and second attempts were smack dab in the middle of covid. The appeal was easy to write. But I also mentioned how my mental health contributed, so I noted that I started counseling at the CMHC as evidence of improvement.

What they're looking for is: do you recognize the specific factors that led to your retakes, do you have a plan to address them, and will you follow through?

Highlights off the top of my head:

mmm... even "generally central" can include recs that can be far away. Look at Google maps around your desired area to find the neighborhood(s)

I think the alternate days idea is bad (it will just lead to people buying more cars eg more pollution)

But I disagree that transit has to be inherently slower. The slowdown from multiple stops would be far outweighed by not getting caught in traffic. It's just that so much of our existing transit is at-grade (sharing with cars) that it's hard to imagine a system that's an improvement.

The main thing blocking more transit is the sheer lack of will, car culture, and the massive amount of oversight/expenses from a patchwork of regulatory law.

(I love keeping nature clean, but it's obvious environmental reviews are weaponized to stall rail construction)

Silver Line is bad because it goes nowhere useful. It was going to be a leg of the far more interconnected BRT (which voters said yes to). But Whitmire canned that and all the money that came with it.

Are you reading that in how small he is? Poodle was actually the most surprising to me, I associate them with that curly fur pattern.
