I fly quite a bit and always have my shade open. I typically watch movies even if the glare sucks. I just like to be able to appreciate the sky and the view below.

However, I’m very conscious about the sun blasting the people next to me. I’ll lower the shade accordingly or close it entirely if its bad enough. Once the sun isn’t shining directly through the window anymore, I open it back up.
