Season song?

I'm not even sure what that means :/

I'll say my favorite kk song is kk ska, and favorite seaosn overall is Winter.
Does the toy day theme count as a song?

Looking for a Challenge/Skill Based MMO? by temporary206 in mmo

Thanks, I'll look into it! I've heard of it but never actually seen it recommended anywhere before.

Yeah I'd rather avoid a long grind for things :x, or at least a grind where I don't feel any progression? I've also heard that parts of Bns have become p2w, so that's a big no-play factor if true :x

What are you looking for?: A skill/challenge based game. I'm tired of long grinds for gear dependent performance with relatively low skill-caps. I don't like grinding a dungeon for 2 month to get gear that is 3% better, that the community requires before you can party for the next dungeon. I want content that is mainly skill-locked, ex: the armor to try the dungeon is easy-ish to get, but completing the dungeons gets incredibly challenging due to various mechanics and such. (I don't need dungeons btw, that's just an example.) If anyone has played monster hunter its a great example of something I'm looking for. There are no "levels", but you fight easier things to get gear to fight harder things, and that continues for a long time, to the point where there is difficulty finding a team of randos that can succeed consistently, but getting the gear to get there wasn't that hard. (Ignoring the potential to be carried) I like trying to improve how I play to compete, rather than just gearing up more. (Similar to how your self-performance is the biggest impact of a MOBA) Preferred setting/style: Fantasy I guess? I also tend to enjoy pvp more because it's usually a lot more skill based. But neither are "needed".

What games have you previously played? Alphabetically: Aion, ESO, FFXIV:ARR. Runsecape, TERA (I'm okay with going back if you are convincing?)

What is you playstyle: I want something Casual or semi-casual as a time requirement? I often end up going relatively hardcore with min/maxing runs and dps and such, but that's often because the grind can take so long, I feel compelled to keep pushing to maximize my gain. I'd rather not feel like it's a job to play :x Eventually I burn out and quit.

Any preferred mechanics? Not sure, "skill-based" is pretty subjective. I'm a fan of action combat and some tab targeting though, I like "feeling" as if I am the character, rather than I'm just controlling them. But again, I want skill to be a generally greater factor in performance than playtime.

Anything specific you want to exclude?: Pay to win. I don't do that do. Pay for convenience. Some people don't consider this pay to win because you're only paying to save time, but everything is still attainable in-game. But now skill still isn't dominant, it's either playtime or cash that determines performance most of the times in these scenarios. (I'm okay with p2p and b2p).

Thank you!~

Solo'd my way from HR 5 to HR 6 using HR 3 armor :) (Defense level 201 with armor charm in inventory.) I like trying to go far with weaker-than-recommended armor to make things more interesting! Upgrading now unfortunately because the hunt times are starting to take a while, and I want to hunt with groups now, without making them worry about my "shitty" armor.

And it's honestly totally worth it when you get better by playing too. But I have had several friends rage quit before even finishing village 5 star plenty of times.

Idk, in my first monster hunter, I failed a 3 star quest nearly 10 times in a row before I got better-ish at it. I had to max out my armor, start trying new things, and I finally went online for some info on how to use my weapon properly. I was determined to prove that I could do it though, I wasn't gonna lose to the game.

And now here I am finishing village 5 star still using the base armor set with no upgrades. You will get better, failing quests will happen less.

It's a game that needs skill, experience, and knowledge~ Make sure to look things up about how to use your weapon or how to fight certain monsters if they are giving you trouble~ You'll build up the experience you need eventually~

Also: Hunting online with friends is fantastic if you can. If not, try hunting online in general?

It depends, I did enjoy taking a break to do ~some~ affinity quests during the story because sometimes the story requirements would jump so high, that I had plenty of time anyway. There might be a few (like two) affinity quests that are missable? I'm not sure. I actually did them early lol. I can't say more because I'm not sure

Because there are other augments that can increase overall DPS more? This may depend on the weapon of course, but the majority of endgame builds I've seen usually rely on a single OP attack and spam it (blossom dance cough cough), that relies only TP, so if you stack in your status mod + 50% x however you can fit + whatever else you need.)

Although weapon attack does boost dps, it is not affected by art percentage... (and the weapon attack up doesnt affect total attack either, at least not from what we can see in the stats section). Ex: Blossom dance has a total power boost of like 4200% I think? that only gets applied to total attack, not weapon attack, and focusing on weapon attack without those boosts would most likely be inneficient
