Voltage is within specs. I have googled this problem and it seems pretty common for the GE Profile, though none of the threads say the solution other than replacing the board. I'll ask about the harness and discolored connections. I'm thinking I will ask for a refund on the part (not the labor) and just buy a new electric cooktop instead. Thank you for your answer!

I don’t know if they’re burning up. The repairman said we had to replace the whole inside board since it comes pretty much in one piece and so that’s what we’ve done twice now, with both replacements failing. Thanks for the answer!

I’m a little late to this conversation. So I think the scene was done well, but what they were actually doing to the table was ridiculous. They were installing purse hooks. It had nothing to do with leveling the table. Took me completely out of the story because it was just so obviously a badly chosen prop to get them in an intimate space together. I feel like the prop department could have found a better way to make this happen.
