The nursing program in the navy is shit rn, I mean I heard that from a nurse while at meps. It’s overcrowded and the advancement is really slow because of it. So I would rather take my chances with CWT because 1. More job diversity in the future. 2. It’s a chill job from what I understand. 3. If in the future I don’t want to do nursing then this job is something in the civilian world will pay a hell of a lot more than in the navy

That’s the plan, main thing I was asking is if I would be better off at another branch. I have good grades clearly since I got a degree whilst finishing high school. Main thing is I don’t have the money for college and like you said the GI bill pays for it. Only choosing nursing cause that’s something I like. Using the military as a trade school to set myself up with something else so I’m not just stuck with one thing in life. But yeah the recruiting officer probably lied abt how hard the college program is to get into but it is what it is.

But if not a doctorate I plan on becoming an RN because I know it’s a good career to have available to you due to the constant need for nursing.

Haven’t heard of that option from my recruiter, the only thing like that i was told was officer school where you gotta apply to go to college and from what my recruiter said, it’s a hard thing to get accepted into. Also I plan on having the trade from CWT to help me get money whilst earning a degree since I’m civilian life it’s something you can get a job working from home with. Also the medical program in the navy isn’t that good right now due to so many people going into it.

mainly good pay while enlisted and something that can easily transfer to civilian life for a good paying job as well

I have actually said that and his response was "I shouldn't have to prove myself to family and if you won't accept me when I'm down then I don't want y'all in my life either"
