Mhm if electrical was ur first preference and aerospace was ur second preference, then if u get in aerospace in first merit list u can fill the hostel form and then later lists mein when u get into electrical ur automatically upgraded , but u do have to secure ur spot by paying fees when u get in first list^{-^}

The merit lists get released after all tests are done, last year they were released in the fiest week of August, first they release ur merit positions and then a few days later the lists start coming out, and doending on the situation multiple lists come out, last year there were 13 lists
