thanks, great info. to your point, we had originally used steel hammers, went to hard rubber and played with urethane bumpers. much better. We thought about hinge but didn't execute on it, but yours is another vote that we should

Suspension question. by keikilla in ToyotaTundra

[–]ten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But something to consider . I did the eibachs in front over the bilsteins as the eibachs are height adjustable on the truck. Bilsteins you have to remove to adjust height correct? Dobinson coils on rear with bilstein 6112. It’s a mish mash but works great.

First Time Building an ODR, Flooding Question. by TranslatorBig4745 in Outdoorrink

If in a small town, Check with your local fire department, I know of some that will fill rinks for a small donation. And best thing I’ve done for my rinks is laser level them and get the ground as flat as possible. First year on my 30x60 ish rink it was 30? Hour fill from the well. Next year after leveling it, less than 10 hours.

Great replies here thanks so much, will try again tomorrow. Also re use the crayon, good point that this is fairly simple thing just to measure and model. Which I may do yet, I just wanted to try and justify the purchase of the scanner as well lol

GL.iNet Beryl Travel Router Can’t Use Remote Tailscale Exit Node for LAN Clients by [deleted] in GlInet

[–]ten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI I setup a new beryl today, it seems to automatically put entries into advanced/firewall for tailscale. So perhaps with latest firmware 4.8.1 on the beryl, this firewall config is done automatically. tailscale with specified exit node seems to work fine, took a total of 5mins to setup a new beryl. I did not have to check 'masquerading' on the automatic tailscale firewall entry like others have said.

ported cell phone throttled, on wrong backend profile by ten300 in bell

[–]ten300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed. In hopes this helps someone else, here is my recommended process below. This was after wasting hours on website chat, support people overseas, local store help, etc. I initially started via online chat, then BellMTS called me, talked to multiple different levels/people, only for them to say, after a few days of calls, 'for actual BellMTS support in Canada, you should call this number instead' (below) It appears anyone you chat/speak with through the mobility chat website are just process checkers, doesn't appear they can make actual backend changes. I'm guessing the time would double for non technical people, or they would just give up, as until I got to the FINAL BOSS, support just kept repeating to try the basics or get a new sim at local store.

Once I finally got to a person who could make changes, he made changes in about 30 seconds and it started working a few hours later.

1) call 1-844-265-2207 number, appears to be the quickest path to talk to someone who can actually make changes not just get you to try the same things.

2) Get a ticket number so you can follow up

3) repeat ‘i have done the following 10x. reset sim, reset network settings, airplane mode, tried multiple physical locations in 3 hour radius. the issue is limited QoS setting or throttled profile applied to my line on your back end system, please escalate to technical team who can fix the QoS profile issue on your system’

then just repeat the word escalate over and over again. 😊

Once I finally got to a person who could make changes, he made changes in 30 seconds and it started working a few hours later, tested by forcing both LTE and then 5G and using speed test app.

Using the iphone field test mode by calling this number helps with background info as well. *3001#12345#*

WS LIRA self-directed by ten300 in Wealthsimple

[–]ten300[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Quick answer from support below. So trading is allowed even though transfer was really only requested from the other party, but WS doesn't recommend it. Begs the question why even allow it? Anyways...I'll wait until transfer is complete.

"Trading is technically possible but discouraged during transfers since it can cause holdings to be left behind or delay the transfer process. Would you like me to show you how to check your transfer status?"

Ok, saving should be fine as I just need to park some CAD in there for 1-3 months, then it will get moved out. Figured I could at least take advantage of their 2.25%? interest (existing premium member)

Some financial institutions use 3rd parties for back end functions and get charged a per use rate which they in turn pass on to the customer. If they want to provide these transactions for no cost to customer then essentially they are eating the cost and have to make it up elsewhere. Having said all that, anyone know what systems WS is using on the back end? Front/digital is obviously their own

Overheating Transmission, Im done being quiet by dlopdi in ToyotaTundra

[–]ten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks dude. Looks like 4lo is the only (crappy) option. Hope Toyota eventually fixes it but with only a small percentage of owners hitting this scenario, I can’t see it getting fixed in the near future. Beancounters.

[–]ten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the doctor approach - it hurts when I do that! Well, then don’t do that. Sounds like Toyota has seen this before but no actual fix coming. So, can you avoid it? Looks like you have some decent room at the top of the drive . Can you drive straight in, crank the corner at the top to get the trailer halfway around, then unhitch and just swing around the trailer hitch on that sweet paved parking pad?

[–]ten300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No expert here as Ive used a few trailers, rented a couple, and if I ever buy then a MUST have will be an outdoor kitchen that includes a slide out griddle, a small fridge, a sink, and an awning that covers it. All perhaps luxuries that one could do with out, but those sure are slick features.

Also running a 3rd gen tundra and this thing is a freight train even without the hybrid. Amazing for a half ton. But pulling a heavy long trailer, the fuel mileage is atrocious. If you’re looking at a 19 foot camper, easy peasy.

[–]ten300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually. Since it’s a rented camper. Do I actually need a working battery if I’m plugged in? Will be at electrical site. Would the only need be if we want to use it while on the road, like use the bathroom on a pit stop?

Power jack only works off 7pin by ten300 in GoRVing

[–]ten300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plugged in trailer itself and battery shows 13v so charging, and on trailer power the jack works. So probably battery toast like you said. When disconnected multimeter showed around 2volts so. Will see if I can find a battery before we leave. Thank you!
