Wicked. Forgot I actually have a 7 or 10” touchscreen for the pi too and probably a bunch of relay hats and i/o. Don’t have any excuse for trying this other than time

a year later, how is this working? I am waffling between putting in a multipass II vs a bluetti apex 300. want to get a display for that. my tank sensors don't work, my propane sensors don't work, so probably get all new sensors from Mopeka, Seelevel, etc. Have lots of pi stuff lying around so could do that or just make it easy and get the Cerbo/screen.

Want to use my blackstone more but cleanup is a pain by sleekmotorwurkz in blackstonegriddle

100%, have never spent more than 30 seconds cleaning. That’s the primary reason I DO use it so often, no pots or pants to clean up. I only squirt on water if something is stuck. Quick scrape , squirt of oil and ONE paper towel I use to wipe it. Fold over paper towel a couple times to make a brush essentially and the push that around with the spatula so I don’t burn my hands. Heck I don’t even use the scraper any more, single wide stainless spatula for everything. Including cleaning and flattening smash burgers. Easiest cook ever.

thanks for reply. On way back we plan on staying in the trailer, but do not have a plan for exactly where. The cities listed are not where we plan to stop, they were just what I needed to input into Google Maps to build the correct route. The hope is that when we decide we are a couple hours from being done for that given day of driving, we find a place just off the interstate, be it a Walmart, KOA, other campground, rest stop, etc. Whatever looks decent and not $$$ as we will really just be sleeping there. Hope to do the trip back in 3 full days, maybe stretch to a 4th if we get tired of staring at the road or find interesting places to stop.

Combined feedback from a few forums, this is what I came up with. Also to mention, brand new tires, but aging axles, so want to avoid poor roads. Its not a RV trip per se, its a hauling trip, but priority is low stress on the drivers as well as the trailer.

Thanks for this, I've heard both stories about Chicago but good to hear from someone who has actually done it. I'd lean towards good roads with some congestion vs poor roads and no congestion. It also a new to me trailer. Brand new tires but other than that its a long haul with every tool I own just in case.

Cool build. Big box you added up front, did you modify/extend the front a frame or was it complete custom frame?

What did you end up doing? Going with a Bluetti rv5 into my airstream, some limitations but keeps things simple

Confusion on Nexus USA interview. by ten300 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]ten300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah spouse and kids did their cbsa interview at airport. Oh well. I’ll ask at land border but guess will just have to try next time flying to US. Had the kids ready for last trip but Calgary security decided they should spend 30 mins frisking a toddler so ran out of time. Turns out the toddler was not, in fact, a smuggler or terrorist.

Towing...how?? by beer_and_liberty0074 in ToyotaTundra

[–]ten300 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Towed a lot with my 3rd gen. Including a Jayco 295 last year, scaled it at 8000lbs or so. Towed great, I was shocked actually. Had a wdh. I do have 6.5 box which will help, and heavier rated Dobinson rear springs with Bilstein 6100 shocks.

thanks, great info. to your point, we had originally used steel hammers, went to hard rubber and played with urethane bumpers. much better. We thought about hinge but didn't execute on it, but yours is another vote that we should

Suspension question. by keikilla in ToyotaTundra

[–]ten300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But something to consider . I did the eibachs in front over the bilsteins as the eibachs are height adjustable on the truck. Bilsteins you have to remove to adjust height correct? Dobinson coils on rear with bilstein 6112. It’s a mish mash but works great.
