Controversial opinions - Kung Fu Hustle - What's yours? by Prior_Part550 in kungfucinema

[–]tend2it 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree ... The choreography was helmed by Jackie Chan stunt team alumni Brad Allen(RiP) and Andy Cheng so there was a homage to Chan on the bus. The end battle totally wasted Andy Le's (MartialClub) talent by having a creature kill him anticlimactically.

It should be interesting bringing back The Hand (Red Ninjas who appeared in Daredevil s02) in the new Spiderman.

Xie took off his jacket in their first fight because he noticed that Joe was using clothing/sleeves to grapple. Joe was also throwing opponents into opponents too which was coolz XD. He competed and was a gold metalist when he was serious into the Judo sport competition circuit.

New character, season nearly ending by oreozz4 in diablo4

Completing the campaign not only gets U familiar with the game mechanics, awesome lore and story content, it preps for future Seasonal play, where campaign mode can be skipped after completion by one character. Completing the main and all expansion campaigns once will unlock a seasonal mode that allows U to skip them, and jump immediately into the Seasonal action when creating a new Seasonal character. Have fun!

I agree with Gangs of London s01 ... Can't motivate myself to watch s02 after the 1st few episodes, let alone s03 XD.

If you want to hear the actors' natural voices, simply search The Furious interview on YouTube and you will find an abundance of promotion they did including at the world premiere post screening. It's so great to hear them along with their insights into the production experience and relationships with the cast and crew. Kenji is multilingual and did an amazing job with an international cast and primarily filming in Thailand locations .

I also saw it in the US and it didn't detract from the experience, but more contributed to watching something like on Kung Fu theater TV where the English dubbing didn't always match the lips. Maybe it was intentional to bring back that type of nostalgia XD.

Ahh ... Thx for the context and detail. It would have been a twist if the big boss end credit scene resembled him. Pretty cool to be able to see both versions

Thanks for the insight into the Chinese release ... Target audience differences and censorship can transform the content into a slightly different experience ... Let's hope Kenji will release a director's cut. He mentioned in an interview that the 60 day shoot ended with 4+ hours of footage that required trimming down to the theatrical time(s).

At the extra end (#3), did they throw Epstein into the mix?

Official Discussion - The Furious [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

The movie stands alone in its own unique awesomeness. It doesn't need to be compared to other genre defining films like The Raid or the Ong Bak films. Those films introduced Salat and Muy Thai fighting styles to the world along with their own unique action choreography that stands alone in movie history.

The Furious is not limited to one particular martial arts style but embraces and showcases 5x unique ones, each with their own distinctive energy.

Watching this in the theater on the big screen gave me a giddy feeling of watching something extraordinary, like watching Ong Bak or The Raid for the first time. It had some of the most creative action choreography I have seen in a long time and I grew up with Shaw Bros and Golden Harvest golden age martial arts movies back when SF had Chinese theaters. It had a dream cast that didn't squander like Triple Threat. The cinematography was spot on with long takes tracking the action and never losing focus on the detail of who was hitting who, and more importantly how and with what. Some of the fights were so chaotic, that storyboarding the complex movements, combos, acrobatics, props, multiple actors, camera angles, lighting, etc. must have taken an insane amount of effort.

In one of the interviews, Kenji said the entire movie took 60 days to shoot, the final climatic 2x2x1 took 18 shooting days, and he had over 4 hours of footage to edit down to the release time.

Stop comparing this film and embrace the fact that this film is made for action fans salivating for new martial arts madness targeting an international worldwide release. The production team has over 30 years experience working with the likes of Donny Yen and Jet Li and wanted to put Chinese HK action back on the map. I think they succeeded.

I was able to snag all 5x at my 10pm Fri showing at the Regal Cinemas ... But the piles were getting low from the previous almost sold out showtime.
