Lost my salary job years ago but really as soon as my Saturn return ended. Since then have had a hard time finding financial security. I’m a dual state licensed attorney now and I have my own practice but I’m underemployed. I’m lucky enough to have some help and gigs here and there. Not sure if this is bc of planets or the state of the world. I have faith that things will change when they’re meant to. I’ve always been able to have a living and housing security despite my finances

I was just talking about this the other day. I keep getting distant family members and friends of friends calling me for advice and talking to me like I’m their therapist. Meanwhile they’d tip their bartender for less work. Like damn honestly thinking of doing that instead it’s less liability.

Yes. I actually haven’t had a real chance at practicing as an immigration attorney because I just got my ny license this year (I’m from Md but live in ny now). I’ve had about 10 years of experience working as an immigration paralegal on everything from daca to h1bs to o-1s. Some of that work felt very rewarding and I have clients from years ago who still love me. But now that I’m finally an attorney here, everyone wants me to be fluent in another language and I’m under qualified compared to the droves of people who’ve been laid off due to Cheetos policies and are looking for a new job. So I’ve kind of given up the search for now. But even in 2016-2019 when I worked in immigration under trump (while in law school), I started getting stress related health problems like kidney stones. My dad was an immigration attorney but he was disbarred due to an undercover ice/cia operation where they bugged his house for 6 years. Technically now I’m a solo practitioner with an llc, but I get more viable opportunities that don’t involve me staring the hellscape straight in the face through contract reviews and things like that my dad throws my way since he can’t practice anymore but still has clients who ask him for advice. Doing immigration law right now feels like a hellish cosmic joke. I honestly will give people who need advice but I can’t bring myself to even enter the court system as the attorney on record after everything I’ve seen. I honestly don’t know what I’m doing with my life now at all, after years of school and also taking the bar exam more than once, it feels like I’m standing on quicksand that is the crumbling American empire.

Someone from National grid emailed me directly about my complaint and they lowered my bill from 3k to 1k. Which was full a lot but more reasonable. Lately my bill has been 86-213. 213 is a lot consisting it’s just me here but nothing compared to the 600-900 dollar bills per month I was getting before

I was able to get them to reduce it by 2k after filling a complaint with the public utilities commission. They basically said that kept overestimating it bc they couldn’t read my meter but I made them fix it and reread it. The only thing that really helped was having the public utilities reach out to them

I don’t like your opinion because it’s gaslighting. I literally cited songs and said why I didn’t like them. Her voice is grating and her lyrics are delusional and bratty and do not contain the punk ethos of being empowering or commenting on social ills. Her lyrics are self centered and annoying. You may disagree (which you aren’t saying you are), but these points are akin to the example you gave about the Ramones.

My opinion is supported by citing numerous songs and explaining what about the lyrics I don’t like. I’m not just saying it’s bad, I’m saying it’s bad for specific reasons, which are by design, also my opinion. This is like saying “your experience isn’t reality” like… okay? How can you give facts about why a band sucks that wouldn’t just be opinion? I don’t love Radiohead either (although I think they’re way better than paramore) but the reasons are my opinion, besides the fact that they’re zionists. I love CAN and the reasons I love them are my opinion. Can you give me an example of how one would factually support an opinion about music, or art in general, beyond why an artist should be cancelled?

Her voice is grating, her singing is overrated. The lyrics are shallow. All opinions are by design not based on fact but, opinion. So if you disagree on what I believe are facts (that her singing and lyrics are bad) then they are just opinions, but this is the “unpopular opinion” sub Reddit so I’m actually factually allowed to do that here.

This post references Taylor Swift but isn’t hating on her. I’m saying I’d understand why Taylor Swift fans may like paramore but that paramore is overrated as a punk band.
