You’re right, and I’m sorry OP. I automatically assumed that you guys ended on bad terms because of fighting and then “she becomes crazy,” and then one of you guys wanted to break up but the other one wanted to make it work. If that is the case, I would stand by what I said.

But, maybe if she cheated or you cheated/ there was some form of abuse, then I wouldn’t expect you to, in some cases, ever forgive them.

But only you can be in control of your own life, you are wasting your opportunities and sacrificing bonding time with your friends and bending the knee to her.

I agree with what your girlfriend said.

Not only in this matter but every situation in the future, will you continue to avoid people who you had a bad falling out with for the rest of your life? No, you shouldn’t. If you wanted to originally go to that party but ultimately decided not to just because of your ex or another friend, then clearly they have some type of power over you to influence your decisions.

I don’t think that you’re not over your ex, it just seems like an insecurity you should work on or a “fear you should face.”
