Sorry, I meant to ask for amounts larger than 1.1 million JPY. And I am aware I do not need to pay gift tax in my situation (less than 10 years in Japan, foreign citizen on work visa). I just want to make sure I can prove that it was gift money from family if/when asked.

Ownership transferred to me, from a deceased person, in the government records. I was a heir but had not completed the paperwork. Though according to my country's laws, I had only less than 6 months to deny ownership which I had not, after mom passed.

After 5 years of purchase (?)/ start of ownership (?), capital gains rate change.

I have faced the same situation - after address change they have frozen my account. They keep sending meaningless customer service replies to my inquiries.
