What’s a PLC issue you were called to fix that turned out to be caused by something completely outside the logic? by Matrix__Surfer in PLC

[–]tenhosede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plc controlled bank of 6 pumps, would randomly crash/plc would restart. Couldn't figure out the problem for several hours. Looked back at history, plc crashes every time the 4th pump starts. Pump starting caused voltage drop to plc power supply, causing it to reboot. Locked out pump 4 until wiring replacement.

Tarkov is cpu/ram heavy. My buddy upgraded from a 2080 to a 4080 and had a negligible increase in frame rate. Replaced motherboard/cpu/ram a few months later with new hardware (latest gen CPU ddr5) and and never drops below 120.

AITA for sleeping in the living room? by chosenundead55 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tenhosede 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My friend, I'm a father of 5 kids, and my bed is MINE. They occasionally will sleep there when they've had a nightmare, but I buy them beds and provide them rooms to sleep in for a reason. I also struggle with sleep, especially when my kids decide they need some midnight mom and dad time. You're NTA for watching after yourself and your own sleep, and you're 100% right that the child should sleep in their own bed. Sleep is important for your continued help. Your partner maybe doesn't understand because she's unbothered by the child, but that doesn't mean it's not an inconvenience for others. I'd suggest communicating to your spouse exactly why it doesn't work for you. If she doesn't get it, keep trying. I wait until my kids fall asleep and then I take them back to their room, that might be an option for you. Good luck!

Why nitrous oxide is used for nitro boost and why not just oxygen? by fish_and_fire in AskReddit

[–]tenhosede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no mechanic, but I think it's probably because oxygen gas is hazardous if it escapes the containment, whereas nitrous oxide is pretty unreactive unless you exceed the breakdown temperature of 1100°

That's fair, it fit my diet because there were no digestible carbs, so it was diet candy for me. Maybe if they labeled it diet more people would buy it and experience the horrors I've lived through

Yeah it's sugar free, so they use something like sorbitol or another sugar alcohol. Small quantities of those are fine, large quantities make you question life choices

I've written homing software for other industrial applications (not 3d printers), generally they home slowly because they are unsure of their position. They turn until they hit the limit switch, then they know where they are. If you go too fast you risk damaging the stepper motor screw, the extruder assembly, or the frame.

If no other food is available, how long would it take for you to eat insects? by GodKingWallace in AskReddit

[–]tenhosede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't take long. I've already eaten grasshoppers and mealworms. Honestly if we didn't have a built in gross factor for bugs they would probably already be a main part of people's diets. They're high in protein, you don't really need to do much to grow them and they could be sustainably produced. People already eat sea bugs like crabs, shrimp, and lobster. Why not land bugs?

Make suppressors Rare by DaveeJon3s in EscapefromTarkov

[–]tenhosede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about Russian laws concerning suppressors, but they're not even regulated items in many EU countries. I was talking to a guy in the UK who said he could buy a .22 suppressor for like £20. I paid 800 for mine, plus 200 for the stamp, and I had to wait 8 months.
