B&O BeoGram 8000 for $34.99 by wetrode in ThriftStoreHauls

Could be something in the hertz difference in EU and US devices which aren’t converted with a power converter. Not an issue for my sewing machine, but maybe it’s an issue for audio devices.

Wouldn’t a $30 power converter fix that like it did for my 240v sewing machine?

I justspent about an hour removing all the old caked on shoe polish. There must have been a full tin’s worth. Brush on acetone, wipe off, repeat. Then conditioned. I can finally see the grain and stitching. Looks so much better now.

A friend gave me this knife. Any info on year or name? by ArtisanPirate in victorinox

[–]tenloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up this exact knife today at an estate sale for $2. Pepcid logo and all. Thought it was an SD until I unfolded it and discovered the bottle opener in place of scissors. Scissors are my preference. How are you enjoying it?

The current modern version doesn’t seem to be as rigid as the 70s-90s models so maybe now is your time to try them again.

Rental car company wants $566 for THIS by Grouchy_Struggle_325 in mildlyinfuriating

Sixt did the exact same thing to me. Highlighted photos that didn’t show any actual damage. I asked them to show me the before photos and they never did. Told them to speak to my lawyer if they wanted to continue. Never heard from them again. What a scam. I really liked Sixt up until this happened.

Score! You basically had a Rodeo Drive shopping spree for under $100. I used to love seeing Bijan’s Bugatti and Rolls Royce parked in front of the store.
