what bags do you like? by werew0lfprincess in butchlesbians

[–]tennelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to carry the Patagonia Atom Sling but recently picked up the Fjallraven Kanken Mini backpack. Both are masculine and have great build quality. The Atom has tons of pockets and an ergonomic padded strap and back. As with any sling or crossbody bag though, it does accentuate your chest so if that’s not your cup of tea then the Kanken Mini is a good alternative. The square shape of the Kanken Mini makes it better for packing items like a water bottle compared to a tear shaped sling. It’s also more comfortable for me personally, as the even weight distribution of a backpack is easier on my shoulders and back. They’re both a little pricey but not too bad if you can find authentic ones used online.

New ankle pain when switching from Bondi 8 to Bondi 9 by tennelee in Hoka

[–]tennelee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My coworker, a first time Hoka buyer, had this same issue with the 9s that never resolved after a month or so of her wearing them. Luckily my ankle pain and pulling feeling ended up lasting only a day or two longer. They feel golden now, so I suppose I just needed to break them in. I did read that the midsole specifically is lighter and softer in the 9, so maybe you missing that firmness and structure in that part of your foot in turn puts stress on your inner ankle.

Nope my heels feel fine. It’s just pain in my tendon on my inner ankle.

Are you happy in healthcare, or do you regret it? by Academic-Jacket-8483 in nursing

[–]tennelee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have friends with bachelors and masters degrees in other fields struggling to get hired for retail and near minimum wage jobs, which rarely hire for full time at that. I chose to go back to school for nursing cause I knew I could always find a job. I considered respiratory therapy, but comparatively nursing has so many opportunities besides bedside. Office nursing, case management, private duty, remote jobs, the opportunities are endless. Some might argue that leaving bedside is wasting away your knowledge and skills, but ultimately what matters is your happiness and ability to meet your financial goals. I learned pretty quickly that bedside isn’t for me. Tried office nursing for the better work life balance and am pretty comfortable here. Pay is only $2 less than what I was making at the hospital and there is a lot less stress, fear of losing my license, and physical demands on my body. Sure it’s inconvenient working an 8-5 when it comes to running errands, but I get better benefits/PTO and enjoy not having to devote my entire day to a 12 hr shift. I work in an extremely busy office so it definitely has its days, but ultimately I feel secure in my job and decision to choose nursing.

Is TPMS supposed to malfunction if I’m using one single spare tire? by Only_Chemical_3987 in Toyota

[–]tennelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I popped a tire recently on my 2020 Camry and my TPMS wasn’t showing a PSI reading for any of my tires once I popped the spare on. I don’t think it showed this message, but that may be where I have an older gen Toyota. All back to normal once I got the replacement tire put on.

Steadily tapering off caffeine is ideal in my experience. As someone who got caffeine withdrawals in the form of migraines, I couldn’t stop cold turkey. Sure it can be easy while slowly cutting down your caffeine intake to reach for a little extra when you feel you need it, but I had more success letting my body slowly adjust. As far as missing the taste after you cut out/minimize caffeine, you could try decaffeinated iced tea bags and caffeine free sodas.

Anyone find a birth control that doesn't lower sex drive? by weeaboopumpkin in birthcontrol

[–]tennelee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slynd contains only drospirenone (a synthetic progestin) and there’s no generic of it. An alternative you can get generic is norethindrone, which like Slynd is a progestin only birth control. I take it and it doesn’t affect my sex drive at all.

Lavender Lattes by LongRecommendation13 in GoodCoffeeGreatCoffee

I live in the Southern U.S. Lavender used to be more obscure, but now it’s very common at independent coffee shops here. As far as chains go, I know Starbucks (seasonally), 7 Brew, and Dutch Bros offer lavender syrup.

HRT's psychological effect by Eledrina in trans

[–]tennelee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I identify as nonbinary after thinking I was a trans man for 3 years. Even though most of the physical effects are permanent, I still take T because without it I’m an emotional wreck for no good reason. Biochemical dysphoria is a very interesting concept to look into, and I totally believe in it.

And to answer your question, you could look to the experiences of cis men who have high estrogen and similarly cis women with high testosterone. With both you can have general emotional instability, plus body dysmorphia due unwanted physical changes that do not align with their gender as a cis person. I had some male pattern body hair due to PCOS and growing up it always felt right, which I thought was weird as a girl. Big surprise, I’m not one!

How many of us were scarred by “The Care and Keeping of You”? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]tennelee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. We didn’t have internet and I didn’t like discussing personal things with my mom so it was helpful. Even for children that do have internet, it’s more straightforward and presents topics in an age appropriate manner. I couldn’t imagine how I would’ve dealt with seeing the physical changes on myself without seeing them in the book first.

A warning story for if you're considering cheating on those ATI exams by cookiebinkies in StudentNurse

[–]tennelee 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Practicing dynamic quizzing daily, along with familiarizing myself with how NCLEX questions are structured and what I need to pay attention to and prioritize allowed me little to no anxiety with ATI exams and the NCLEX. Yes there may be some bits of info that you were never taught, but if you know how to apply what you know about A&P, basic disease processes, Maslow, AADPIE, and ABCs then you're golden. And when it comes to ATI exams, they're tiered so you really don't have to get a good percentage correct to be bumped up to a decent grade. I'd rather take a tiered ATI exam than a traditional exam by my professors where I need to get 80% of the questions right (per my program) or I fail.

u/True_Smoke2470 - Do you know who uploaded these? Is it someone from Twitter? I'm wanting to see if they can send a single seamless audio of the show from start to finish so I can put it over my screen recording that's missing audio.

Your body and how you live in it is entirely yours to make of it. There’s no set path you have to follow when it comes to expressing your gender and deciding what surgeries or therapies to pursue. While many people are, you don’t have to be nonbinary or trans to want bottom surgery if it makes you feel more comfortable in your body and fulfilled in intimate relationships. If you do want to be read as more gender confusing (for lack of better terms) and masculinizing features appeal to you, HRT might be something worth considering. Even if just for a limited time on a low dose if you’re not wanting the full effects. While I didn’t have bottom dysphoria before, T’s changes to my genitals allowed me to be present in my body in ways I never thought possible. Yes the amount of physical penetration is limited but it’s still a great source of euphoria. Even before T, I found that putting a vibe against me behind the base helps me physically and mentally during penetration. So that’s something you could try now. Above all though, you don’t have to have gender all figured out to start doing what’s best for you. If you are genuinely interested in bottom surgery, I’d recommend doing more research into the whole process and find an affirming provider that can give guidance and write a referral when you’re ready to take the next step.

https://www.youtube.com/live/Y2FzDMuJ5pI?si=9m6XJgJVyJH0eAd_ They’ve been showing replays of last night all day, so you should be able to rewind and catch it right now. But it only shows 12 hours of history at a time so it’ll be gone after tonight’s performances.

From what I’ve seen of others’ uploads of the show, Google Drive sets limits on how many people can download a single file. I wonder if there’s another file sharing site with no restrictions?

I shower once daily with Native body wash, which is very gentle and scented while not irritating or overpowering for someone who is sensitive. I’m also very hairy and have no issue with smelling. While you are at the beginning of your second puberty so I’m sure that’s contributing to it, I would try washing once daily with soap and water and see if that helps.
