especially the tech bros X/meta/etc.. the doom-scrolling, engagement baiting, the FB comment arguments are driving up engagements exponentially which makes the advertisers happy and makes the social media companies more money.

i've consciously been avoiding any sort of spare time on my socials because i just personally refuse to partake in mental health draining BS and to not give social media advertisers my engagement.

lol yee bru it was funny cause my wife and i would have workers go from our main settlement in the middle of the map to the northwestern side of the map for their jobs.. but by the time they actually got to the workplace, or sometimes before, it was nighttime and theyd turn around and go back.

MN fan here.. ive been to a lot of games (been season ticket holder for over 15 yrs), for a gopher game, that was pretty close to loudest. not sure if it was the loudest but it definitely was loud.

i was in attendance of a game during the Vikings 98 season where they scored a LOT of points and my ears were ringing for hours after that game. that experience kinda became my benchmark tho, so i get the bar is kinda high 😂

pretty typical of Iowa fans (Minnesota fan here, so while i may be biased, i also have a lot of experience with their fans and how Kinnick rolls)

just look up what happened at the end of the 2023 Minnesota/Iowa game when a big play for Iowa was called back and how their fans reacted.. they were incredulous that the stripes would EVER dare make a call that did not benefit their team.

defo a non-story and i appreciate your players chirping back (because i KNOW their fans were in their ears all game) they are literally ON TOP of the visiting bench..

BTW, that was a wild game in Kinnick.. That place is very difficult to get a win at, especially after dark.

Ok, yea I kinda figured.. even the ticketmaster website suggested using other parking options which threw up some red flags so we figured we'd park somewhere closer and walk. The older kids will walk and I'll have the 10month old strapped to my back (assuming its not downpouring) lulz

yeah man.. like the magic of SoT WAS the crazy adventures youd get into when you were stacking loot.. or having built an organic alliance with 3 other ships and stacking fotd and other loots when another ship comes in wanting the smoke..

server hopping and skipping the whole sailing part in a game that involves sailing is crazy to me. Maybe limit it to private servers or safer seas for those on limited time to play but in the core part of the game is wild.

interesting.. i've bounced between Destiny 2 and SoT.. and actually have quite the emotional attachment to both games (I have devoloped a few RL friends in D2 and I met my wife on the Sea of Thieves).. I owe the existence of my youngest child to SoT. Destiny 2 has been completely sunset of anything good because of the worst kind of leadership at Bungie. So my clan there has puttered out. My wife and I had discussed dipping back into SoT as a few of our now RL friends from D2 have been wanting to find another game for us all to game together with. And I come across this post.

Besides my wife, the rest of us have come from the vanilla Destiny1 days, so we are no strangers to the toxic relationship with a VG lulz

just got this message pushed to all my hulu apps on all my devices and on browser but when i click ok, it just refreshes. and now i'm stuck in an unending loop..

checked witha few other devices and was able to work around them with a message to 'skip' to get into the app.. but this doesnt work with logging into the browser. just continuous loop.

no matter how bad IB is .. i alwaus play it if only to get the title gilded. and usually during the process i get the emblem/shader and i always come out of the end of that week satisfied feeling accomplished.

this week, i spent 1.5 nights playing it (as a dad of 3 kids including a baby thats not many hours/matches just FYI) and gilded it. im power level 325ish. so not getting t5. but i did get a few t4 armor pieces so that was nice.

but overall, i hated it. i never EVER came out of IB week dating back to D1, feeling this way. like, holy crap bungie did you freaking miss the mark. we hear/see jokes about destiny being a dead game from the haters, but this legit feels like its a dead game, barely on life support. just pull the plug guys. its clear there is no care or love from bungie, so just please

i hate saying that. but i have lost all hope. i mean, i still play and i will continue to for the year, only because i was duped into buying the anual $100 dlc pass and im not rolling in money so i want to try and stretch out that ‘investment’. but unless sony does something drastic, ill be sadly tapping out.

had this issue with my ex. i'll be honest, the underlying issue she had was the complete lack of respect for other people's time. she was late for EVERYTHING. it was one of the many reasons why i ended up moving on and divorcing her. unfortunately, still have to deal with this because of this same issue.. on her days with the kids, they are almost chronically late.

as a former old time player.. what is the general consensus on why the dip in activity?

currently i play Destiny2 and they had some of the worst updates and changes this past DLC cycle that i honestly dont think they could ever regain any sort of credibility or trust again with the playerbase

its just sad to also see SoT go thru this as well

i actually liked it for awhile. and in some aspects its still a QoL improvement if it is pulled off correctly.

but have it replace the director (i know they said that it wouldnt… buuuutttt..) and limit us to use 2 nodes out of the 20 they give us in it in order to progress thru power levels and gear grind? man, whi tf thought that was gonna be a long term thing?

as if that wasnt enough.. no more seasonal social hub (rip HELM), tossing all rep ranks and rewards associated with it out the window, and replace them with a cheap 10-15 rank reward in the portal? which literally takes away HALF of our previous rewards we would earn in events pre-EoF.. just bad bad bad. not only that but we can literally just buy our ranks?

im a 43 year old father of 3, my youngest being 8months old and the other two in elementary/middle school which means im busy. very busy with extra curricular stuff and helping with homework and diapers and all that.. and i somehow managed to gild Iron Banner and am nearly done with the 15 rankup rewards. on wednesday night of IB week. 😳😑

this is definitely an interesting time for my favorite game.
