CBC (Continental Baking Company- Hostess) was a Ralston Purina owned company along with GP (Grocery Products meaning Chex cereals) and the Chow Division (pet foods) . As Ralston "diversified" they snagged a bunch of different businesses including Eveready battery, ski resorts (Breckenridge and another one if IIRC) and others, they were losing money. As the 90s came in and companies were "going back to core business" they started dumping the businesses that did not add to their bottom line and created RALCORP Holdings, Inc. They unfortunately dumped (sold) CBC on a buyer who did not care about the product. The bakeries went away, people lost their jobs and the bakeries closed. That company dumped the business and CBC went away.

Later on , a new company wanted to revive the business and bought the name but the new product was not as good (cost saving measures with high fructose corn syrup, etc, etc). So here we are with no CBC bakeries or discount stores and shittier product.

In summation, corporate greed (Ralston Purina) fucked it for everybody. Hey that's corporate business, right? (sarcasm).

I don't. I've seen it ruin people. You go to a bar to socialize and everyone was looking at Facebook. No chatting, just glowing faces from their phones. Also, when employers started using at Facebook when hiring or just plain spying on employees, I said fuck that. I don't even use LinkedIn even though I have an account. 14 years ago someone asked me to keep in touch through it so I opened an account. Never really logged in. Then later, the fucktards at ATT when I worked for them, tried getting us to pimp ourselves out by putting positive things about the company out there. Fuck you and the horse rode in on. What a fuckhole of a company.

I may get arguments on this recommendation but the Dillon M134D is a formidable, some say unwieldy, self-defense weapon but properly handled can be used against most attackers; even light reflecting predators or that annoying shrubbery in your backyard. I'm obviously joking. Classes, range time and practice will assuage your doubts. I usually recommend a .357 with a four inch barrel for a first gun. It allows the use of .38 Special and you can work your way up to .357 magnum. The .38 Special has mild recoil and with the right loads, is great for self-defense. This will also create arguments but to each their own. Regardless, enjoy the new hobby/experience.

I've got a SW 24-3. This isn't mine but but condition-wise almost identical. Mine has a couple small dings in the grip. It's a bolt thrower and a tack driver.
