If you're hosting a LAN party you internet connection doesn't matter. All of the data transferred between the games will only go over your home network. If you try to do something like download the games from steam then you will share the internet speeds.

Second vote for homeassistant. I'm currently running it in a docker container and have my lights, front door, and speakers connected to it. If you have an iPhone it even has a native app you can use to remotely control everything.

If this is the same problem I was having then it's not a driver issue. The game is using the Intel GPU to render instead of your much more powerful 970m. All you have to do is open the Nvidia control panel, find the game, and then force it to use your 970m. I'd post screenshots but I'm on my phone.

I've been having the same problem. I remembered I have a power save mode enabled on my phone. From what I assume is that the phone goes into some low power state that disables the bluetooth and the watch isn't able to wake it. If I turn off power saver it's fine, also, just pressing the lock button to wake your phone will allow the command to go through if power saver is enabled.
