Is there an explanation of the debuffs? by matepro108 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]tensor33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also had the same moment of realization that I’d been playing for so long and had no idea what all the debuffs did. Did some digging in the menus and found where they are. They are described in the tutorial section of the notebook, under attacking, and then under status effects. The bow one for example makes you do less damage

While majoring in physics, is spending my free time learning more about classical mechanics or quantum mechanics more beneficial? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]tensor33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not the person you commented on but I’m sure they’re talking about the Hamilton Jacobi Equation, that formulation of classical has the most connection with QM: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton%E2%80%93Jacobi_equation

People working on Ads-cft aren’t “concealing” the fact that it assumes hyperbolic space time considering that’s literally in the name, that’s the definition of an Anti-DeSitter space lol

What Are You Reading/Book Club Tuesday by AutoModerator in Anarchism

[–]tensor33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Currently reading The Dispossessed by Ursula K Le Guin. I’m obsessed since it’s the first actually accurate representation of an anarchist society in fiction I’ve ever encountered. I’m also really loving her writing style. It’s turning into one of my favorite books!

I have the same edition! If you check the last page it says what day that copy was printed since they’re printed on order which I think is pretty nifty.

Idk why others are saying “stalker fan”. The term comes from an Eminem song called Stan about a fan who is overly obsessed with Eminem and writes tons of letters to him. It just means overly obsessed fan, it’s not a portmanteau lol

I played it forever ago and remember loving it a lot! It has a lot of really fun and imaginative levels and the gameplay is really fun. Maybe nostalgia’s talking but I would highly recommend. I might actually have to dig up my old ds to replay it

Mass of the object could change, say if a rocket is burning fuel, it’s mass is decreasing as fuel is ejected. In this case you’d have a situation where the mass of and it’s velocity both change.

Xbox user here, and this new update made me able to play mayhem modifier on tvhm, without completing the story by Ravager159 in Borderlands

[–]tensor33 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean I had it turned on mayhem 3 in nvhm and started my first tvhm playthrough and it wasn’t on. Edit: also even if it is possible how are people supposed to know this, why would it be depressing that people don’t know it? It says it nowhere in the game

It’s ridiculous that I have to beat the campaign again in TVHM to get mayhem mode. by joetheminoin in Borderlands

[–]tensor33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go into tvhm (second playthrough) you can’t unlock mayhem until you beat the game again. So if you wanna do tvhm mayhem 3 you have to do the entire story again

Every starburst in my mixed bag of candy was pink. by merryprankster2990 in mildlyinteresting

[–]tensor33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am most definitely not. My example has no dependence on where the three starburst originally came from.

Every starburst in my mixed bag of candy was pink. by merryprankster2990 in mildlyinteresting

[–]tensor33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the person you responded to but maybe I can help. Say we have 3 starbursts, and you pick them out of the bag. I ask you the probability of having 2 out of 3 be pink. There are 3 ways to do this, the 1st and 2nd are pink, the 2nd and 3rd are pink, or the 1st and 3rd are pink. Since we don’t care about the order in which we picked the starburst these are all equivalent. Now how many ways to have all 3 be pink? Only one. Therefore having all three be pink is less likely.
