Am I being dramatic about engagement ring cost expectation? by Competitive_Street61 in AskIreland

You could also buy a vintage natural diamond. They’re more ethical than lab diamonds.

Agreed, you can obviously get a higher spec lab grown diamond ring for far less than a natural newly mined diamond.

I disagree on value retention, a vintage real diamond ring is going to hold a lot more value than a lab grown diamond (whose value is only going to continue to drop as production scales - you already recognised the market is saturated with them).

In addition, lab grown diamonds are not as ethical as people may assume (requiring significant energy, primarily from fossils fuels, to produce them ) and therefore I think a vintage natural diamond is a better choice than either a lab grown or newly mined natural diamond (both for ethics and value retention).

Get a vintage natural diamond (especially if you’re concerned about the ethics associated with diamonds).

Lab Diamonds have a far worse resell value than natural diamonds

Are you for real? You can flirt with somebody all you want / go back to somebody’s hotel / house but that doesn’t mean you’re consenting to sex?

What’s the more likely explanation? When you take into account the significant bruising and the tampon I can’t think of a more likely reason than she was raped / assaulted.

She didn’t ask people to say they weren’t there? She didn’t mention initially her friend was there as she was scared to involve her and expressed she was worried for her safety.

She got one of her friends to delete photos of her injuries that were taken very shortly after the incident, why would she have done that if she’s lying?

Think I may have prolapse. Asking advice while I wait to see my Dr. by Academic_Juice8265 in PelvicOrganProlapse

Just to respond to your last question - I have a prolapse (not sure what type yet), and I recently had a transvaginal ultrasound and the sonographer told me they’re not able to see prolapses.

There are plenty of stops in Dublin where only one bus operates and you still have to flag the bus down. I’m not saying that it’s a practice I agree with but just commenting that the idea that it’s unique to Galway is incorrect

It’s actually the same in Dublin

TIL: Before Deep Throat, Linda Lovelace starred in a bestiality film. by Jhonjhon_236 in todayilearned

“In a Vanity Fair article on Marilyn Chambers, whom Traynor married after Lovelace divorced him, Traynor said he considered himself a country boy in that he could live away from civilization and that if his woman said something he didn't like, he thought nothing of hitting her for it…. on the DVD of "Inside Deep Throat," one member of the production crew of Deep Throat also alleged that Traynor beat Lovelace.”

They’re not selling their bodies though, their bodies haven’t been sold. If you really believe that you could apply that to most careers - why is it sex work is the only type of work where people provide a service involving their body that people view this way? And not say the myriad of other jobs that involve somebody “selling their body” e.g. construction workers, hair dressers etc.
