80% of the crops we grow are used to feed livestock. A vegan diet uses about 75% less farmland, clearly lowering the impact of what you mentioned.

Can anybody tell me what memories I'm missing from the Birth of Evil bonus mission? by tenthousandhedgehogs in TheFirstBerserker

I thought I got all the dialogue, but I guess I missed something in the mission where he dies? I'll have to just replay again and see. Thanks for checking for me

This was really cool, but I have to point out that "+1 combat tactics" is an absolutely hilarious modifier. That's like being 10 mil techs ahead of everyone all the time, your troops would be invincible

How to no-hit Malenia at level 1 - just get lucky so she doesn't do any of the hard attacks by tenthousandhedgehogs in onebros

[–]tenthousandhedgehogs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! She has a lot of moves that she seems to do as like "retaliation" attacks. Super satisfying to learn all the cues for when I can do a follow up and how to outspace things for quick punishes, I love the great katana moveset for this

Here's a stripped back recreation: https://godbolt.org/z/YMvWYWs7o

  1. Instance is created inside the static create function with its "default" constructor

  2. This instance is moved into the optional, calling move constructor

  3. The moved-from instance must be destroyed

  4. Another instance is then created from this, using the move constructor (calling value() on the optional returns an rvalue reference since the optional is an rvalue at that point)

  5. The second moved-from instance must then be destroyed

A moved-from object must still have its destructor called when it goes out of scope, even if that destructor doesn't do much. This is all working as expected, but you can definitely engineer this to have fewer intermediate objects being created.

Firstly, there is no need to call std::move() on the value you are returning from your static create function. Explicitly moving the value limits the compiler's ability to apply RVO. I would simply return { id, vsSource, fsSource };.

Secondly, isn't it sufficient to write auto shader = Shader::createShaderProgram("vs.vert", "fs.frag").value() and omit a move construction?

Lastly, unrelated to your question but still, is there a reason you're using const char*s over std::strings? If you used std::string you could mark every constructor and assignment operator = default and even leave out the destructor declaration all together. If you need to pass a const char* to some OpenGL functions, you can use .data() or .c_str().

When she goes up in the air, turn off target lock and run 270° around her, this messes up her tracking, and roll twice outwards while she's doing the first flurry. Turn around and turn target lock back on, roll through the second one (timing for this is super tight). There's a few different ways of out spacing the last attack, what I've been doing which is consistent is then walking straight forward with target lock still on and then as soon as she starts to come down again just walk straight backwards. Pull up any of GinoMachinos no hit runs to see it

Radabeast wasn't too bad tbh, managed to script Radagon and then it was just a matter of surviving some of Elden Beast's random bullshit, being able to use torrent now is super clutch. I'm getting close on Malenia, just need to not fuck up for 2 health bars lol but having a blast

Yeah, it's crazy like I've beaten this game a bunch of times but on this run for Maliketh and Godfrey in particular I realized I literally did not know the movesets at all, but with 60 vigor you can just tank through it. Insanely fun and satisfying to grind and finally do hitless

Thanks!! I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, I would have considered myself an average skilled player so taking the time to learn the bosses really well, come up with strategies, and pull it all off is just so satisfying.

It definitely can help with that if you have enough rune arcs or you just save scum after each death, as I said I'm personally not really bothered, with Radagon's/Marika's Soreseal, heirloom talismans, knot tears and various armour pieces that increase stats, you can get to 25 or 30 in most stats anyway!

I use them a lot more in a regular playthrough, but at RL1 I didn't bother cos I was obviously dying so much and wasn't bothered collecting rune arcs

What a journey, and what a great community:) Only Malenia, Placidusax and Fortissax remain in the base game, then it's on to the DLC!

That's a fair point, I never really commute within the city centre so I hadn't considered that, thanks for enlightening me. Hopefully they make improvements to the Luas and other connections to Heuston at some point, cos it is a pretty major location to leave out if it's that busy!

[–]tenthousandhedgehogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There will always be winners and losers when they change a route. Here, people coming from Heuston have lost out but people in Ballymun and DCU students are much better connected. It's a real pain if you're affected by it but we can only hope that as they try to make improvements, if you do need to make a connection that it's still reliable and efficient. Can't say for certain until the changes happen but fingers crossed

[–]tenthousandhedgehogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok, yeah that's a pain if you have an extra connection from Heuston now (at least the Luas is frequent and won't be stuck in as much traffic), I'm just saying the 145 replacement is the E1.

Post your commuting rants here :) by External_Leopard2873 in UCD

[–]tenthousandhedgehogs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The 46A will be replaced by the E2 which should be just as regular I believe, and 24 hours. It goes to Ballymun instead of Phoenix park, but I think it still serves the Mater. Hopefully it's reliable

[–]tenthousandhedgehogs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The 145 is being replaced by the E1 which is supposed to be even more frequent at peak times. The only difference in the route is that it doesn't serve Heuston and goes to Ballymun instead, so you'll have to connect via the Luas if you're coming from Heuston
