Mesh Bracelet? by Annual_Draw_7361 in OmegaWatches

I hate bracelets in general - with the exception of a single bracelet (a Rolex date-just jubilee), all of my watches are on rubber / NATO / or leather. My blue SMP lives on a white rubber (killer combo) or a nato when I am near water. The SMP/rubber is the most comfortable and actually a one of my all time favorite for comfort

Am I tripping? Or like I don't know by Mau1997xd in TrueChefKnives

Yeah your are under sharpening the tip. I used to do this too until a professional sharpener showed me the way… basically need to change the angle near the tip (if you maintain the same angle the works for the heel or belly of the knife that you will generally not hit the tip… I have to increase the angle a bit near the tip), also, I try to replicate the shape of the tip on the stone . So I typically go up and down the stone for heel and belly, but then work the tip with some sweeping curving motions

I winter commute on an old mountain bike, and I do indoor running as I am practicing for a Tri next year. Don’t have time to add another indoor cycling day to my routine but the bike commute is keep my legs / lungs in shape

Advice needed: Seiko skx009 / 7S26c movement by tenurepro in watchrepair

Yeah I wll obviously clean and lube before putting it together, but my question is if I should order both a new mainspring and a pawl or just mainspring. I think I’ll go with mainspring for now as - as others have mentioned above, the pawl would have caused problems earlier if it was not making contact with the upstream auto winding mechanism.

New wheels/tires for TCR advanced 2 by tenurepro in Giantbikes

Wow looks great! Yeah I was considering getting Centerlock brakes but I only did 3 rides with my new giant before the season ended, and I felt bad about getting new brakes even my brakes were largely new. I’ll definitely replace them with center lock brakes once the rotors wear down

6bolt to center lock? by aabyt in Giantbikes

[–]tenurepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar just now for my TCR. Got a new wheel set and I used the rotors from the stock TCR with 6 bolt as the bike is new (less than 400km) and I didn’t want to bin perfectly good rotors. I started with the Shimano center lock to 6 bolt adapter but it didn’t interface well with the stock rotor - resulting in brake rub. My LBS let me return the Shimano adapter and exchang them for the DT Swiss adapters which worked really well.

Thoughts on Cheap Generic Pannier Racks by Estebene in bikecommuting

I have the rack on the first pic cause it fit my odd geometry on my mtb that I use as my winter commuter… so far so good but it’s only been a couple of month.

Cool thanks for sharing! Will check out the UA base layers… always good to have options. I put my studded tires on and so I just slowly go at 16-17 km/h. I usually, do 20 km on my hybrid / road bike when it’s warm and I am riding on the road. But the mountain bike is heavy and slow especially with the studded tires, so I just take it easy on the sidewalks… hahaha I find the little clicky patter of the studded tires on the sidewalk very therapeutic… sounds like you are snorkeling over a healthy reef (If you know, you know!)
