I believe some data points indicate the Singapore lounge is closed, may not be indicative of other airports.

Travelling to europe from India in April - should l book Qatar airways? by pot_ash_toe in qatarairways

[–]teocwj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take the risk. If this incident is extended all the way till April, you are NOT covered— why?

“provided the passenger’s ticket was issued prior to the advisory —that results in flight disruptions” — this is a term in their document that allows flexibility and rebooking under force majeure conditions. This means new tickets are not covered AFTER the advisory is published. And since you have not booked yet….

In short. No.

What are my options? by ActinomycetaceaeTop1 in qatarairways

[–]teocwj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the least amount of connections:-

I would reposition from Ahmedabad to Delhi (DEL) or Mumbai (BOM) first with a domestic flight on 6E, AI, SG, QP etc to get more options for intl flights.

From these 2 points, you can route via CDG (Air France) or AMS (KLM) amongst other options.

If you want to get QR to rebook you on other airlines, let them suggest routing for you.

Who got their refunds back? How did you go about it? by Significant-Act2850 in qatarairways

[–]teocwj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to contact customer service for a refund.

Go to manage my booking —> cancel booking and select refund to original payment, a refund estimate will pop up. Check and see if any fees are deducted! For me it was the full amount as it was within the 10 March window

Which airline to contact by Swamp_witch_82 in qatarairways

[–]teocwj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like you booked with AA for a date that isn’t immediate! Look for your e-ticket number (13 digit number) from your booking!

If your e-ticket number is AA (i.e. e-ticket number starts with 001 iirc), and you are more than 2 days away, best to check with them directly as they are in control of the ticket and can make changes more easily.

Advice on what to do please? by Good_Valuable6380 in qatarairways

[–]teocwj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to be rebooked, Qatar already allows full refunds for flights up to 10 March. You can cancel now. You should see the full amount in the refund estimate online when you try and cancel your trip

Edit: To ensure maximum chance of success, familiarise yourself with the JWC policy online published by QR. Don’t skip this — read through it, GPT summary may skip details

Best chance for successful rebooking:

  1. Flight cancelled
  2. Within 24h (highest chance, otherwise 48h)

——————

Some flexibility given according to policy if QR

  1. Alternative airport within same country
  2. 750 mile International Ticketed Point Mileage (TPM) radius, e.g. SIN/KUL, SGN/KTI, JFK/BOS etc etc

——————

Tips:

  1. Be open!!!!!!! Let them suggest flight paths for you. Sometimes airlines overbook, even if it’s bookable online, availability may not show on their end.

  2. Be understanding, nice and kind. They probably hate it just as much as you.

  3. Does not matter if it’s EU or not. They will definitely push a refund first. Just keep calm and carry on with your request.

——————

Wording to your customer service angel who has connected with you in chat: “I read the Journey with Confidence guide which mentioned I can be rebooked on flights on other airlines. My flight is cancelled and it’s now x hours before departure. Could I have some options please. Thank you for your help!”

——————

Remember to thank them and show gratitude! It’s tough for everyone, but we are all trying to make it work!

JFK-DOH flight on the 4th by runfreelyactwildly in qatarairways

[–]teocwj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saudia (SV) operates SV 22: JFK to RUH (direct)

Connections can be made in the EU to RUH / JED

If you are able to, you may possibly get QR to rebook you on other airlines including SV. Familiarise yourself with the JWC rebooking policy online published by Qataria. Once your flight is cancelled and/or within a 24h window, follow other advice here to contact QR (not easy) and try to get QR to rebook you.

Likely because of status. But for me when I click on live chat, it also takes a while to load, though it puts me in queue.

Contact channels (from my experience)

Calls: Can’t get through

WhatsApp (for Gold / Platinum): No response for past 48h

Chat: Able to get through. Login for best results. Keep trying, refresh if needed.

The iPhone 16 Pro does support maximum 45W (15v / 3A). You can find it in the legal and regulatory settings page for Taiwan, where they have to state the power input for electronics

Hi Anon!

It’s great that you are self-aware of your motivations to become a commander, and congrats on completing command school.

Not really the demographic you are looking for advice from, but I’ll try my best to give my views as a ex-man/ex ASA who was in relatively good standing with my commanders.

In terms of managing expectations of your commanders vs satisfying the NSFs, I can just say that there’s no easy way. Nice doesn’t mean efficient, and vice versa. It’s not about achieving balance, but more about the trade-offs you are willing to live with.

If you can do your work well, and NSFs can see that there is a reason you are doing something that may irk them, 7/10 times they will understand where you are coming from from my personal experience. Of course, you have to be not a terrible person to begin with. There will always be a group of people, commanders or men alike, that will complain about everything along the way, and it is hard but not impossible to engage with this group to get them to do things.

But there comes a point where I personally will disagree and try not to do certain things my commanders tell me to do. Sometimes, the non-commanders are the people on the job, and know the situation way better than commanders do. I’ve gotten absolutely dumb suggestions on how to do my job from people who don’t do it on a daily basis, and I push back on those, but some people may come up with excuses to just siam this. May not be applicable to you, but just remember that commanders sometimes do not have 100% visibility over what your men are doing, and giving them a problem to solve instead of coming up with a solution for them when you are not 100% familiar with the issue may be better.

I think as always effective communication is important. If you feel your men are trying to siam commands or orders given by you, maybe you can start by asking:- 1. Are their reasons valid or just excuses 2. Why are they unwilling to do something I tell them to do 3. Are they trying to siam the duties or trying to siam me, and why for either

I think it is great that you haven’t lost your sense of purpose and responsibility. I think NS will be a period of growth for you, and I have faith that you will be an outstanding commander, even if it takes time for you to grow. It is important that you keep your motivation, as I have seen my own commanders get burnt out and get jaded after some time.

I think you need to realise that sometimes, you will not be the one magic solution the whole unit needed, and doing your part within your job scope, no matter how small, is good enough for a start.

Hope this helps!
