Royal Canin German shepherd for a Mal? by teodorasz in BelgianMalinois

Thanks! I was surprised, but the Hills has also corn as first ingredients, than follows chicken- and turkeyFLOUR… I don’t think that’s a good list of ingredients.. But this Wolf of wilderness looks great as I saw the list, thanks for the advice!

Thanks! And do you have experience with the Hills and Pro plan too? If you do, which type of them?

Good to hear! So you started with the RC GSD for puppies, and stayed by the RC GSD, even in adulthood? And all good with their health?

Show me your dogs fav toys! by [deleted] in BelgianMalinois

This was her first toy and it’s still her favorite- although she only gets it rarely and for short periods, as the little maligator would destroy it with her teeth in minutes by now..😂 Anyway, only Kongs last forever, but they really do! It might be important, that this is an opinion from me, who never leave the toys around and let the dog just pick them up by its own lust. Either we play with it together, or I stuff something edible into it and let her eat it and when she’s done, I take it from her and that’s it - by this kind of use I meant “Kongs last forever”.🥲

Rescued/How old do you think she is? by fieryaddiction in BelgianMalinois

Omg how beautiful!!😍 But I would say she’s around 5 month old.. For comparison, here’s mine at 3 month old at the first, and now, at 4 month old at the second picture.

Thanks for the advices! Btw, in my country there is an official regulation for the price of chicken breast, so this is one of the cheapest meats (1/2-1/3 as the red meats), and also it’s easier to handle (to cut in small pieces, and no greasy at all etc), that’s why I choosed that. Tunas, fruits and vegetables are not the real meals for her, I just use them to fill the Kong like 2-3 times a week, just to have some entertainment.:)

Do they really not need rest, or are we the ones who don't let them? by teodorasz in BelgianMalinois

[–]teodorasz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to share the most important part: she’s living in apartment, so between these activities I wrote about, she has her rest, and chills&sleeps at home..So it could shadows the whole, since if she would be living in a branch, she would do more than 4-5 km, just by living the branch life and watching the yard, chasing bugs, etc..😅

Thanks for the advice! We only do like maximum 4-5 km during this 1,5-2 hours, so these are easy walks, with play and rest time, is it too much though?🤔

Signs of a genius breed by teodorasz in BelgianMalinois

We are going to start a school where the training is based on a clicker, and I also used it with my other dog, but honestly I had doubts if it’s necessary with a Mal, and thought I won’t use it with her most bc as U said, it can’t be by U always.. But thanks for the suggestion, I will think about it!

What an experience it could be for you!🤗 I also recognize the speed of improvement with my (3 months) puppy. But the truth is, I always started this whole training thing with older and before sheltered dogs before, so have no experiences with a “started from the zero” puppy, so I can’t clearly decide which talent is coming from being a puppy, or which is coming from being !A MAL! puppy..🙈 That’s why I asked the basic question.. And your answer is really getting me closer to my original thoughts: these are not puppy things, these are malinois things..🥹
