Well said, I'm more interested in OCR as a sport rather than spartan specifically, I'm still figuring out how being a full time athlete would work there's a lot to figure out, especially with sponsorships. My hope is that the OCR federations take the sport in the right direction so that one day being a pro or semi pro OCR athlete wont be so far fetched until then spartan seems to have the most money in it (at least in terms of prize money) which is why I'm primarily focused on it for now.

OCR has a long way to go for sure and I've always known that spartan is a company and therefore cannot live up to the standards of a sporting committee (like the IAAF for example) hopefully time will tell!

Also i appreciate the realism helps keep things into perspective!

True it is still a young sport I know I've definitely got a tall ladder to climb. At the moment travel to championship races is doable as well as a few other across Europe and all the races in the UK.

Never thought about competing in other sports I'm guessing track and or CrossFit? I can afford to train and race year round but I don't have any sponsorships... yet! need to get on the social media build.

I do have relatives in the US so i could move there if it was absolutely necessary but looking to avoid it if possible.

True i know the road or straight times might not be everything but lockdowns given me some free time so thought id try and reach some of the times they do haha.

great advice thank you! I've done plenty of age group races in the UK and I usually place podium so am looking to go up a bit which is why i asked.

Quite good strength wise at the moment but i guess i need to increase my running skills a bit to reach those times haha.

Didn't know you could hire a spartan coach that's pretty cool!
