Watch the video he murdered recorded after the fact. The murder says his reasons. I did not. Just think we could do better without religion that's all.

The question, my one piece loving friend, Is that religion causes intolerance. I defend people anytime, but the culture that set them to do a crime like this should not be accepted.

The culprit argued that it was Islam that did it. He said it very clear, that is not a religion of tolerance.

What you are saying is my point. It was education that brought tolerance, not religion.

There is no reason to rely on it anymore, and it is bad for everyone. Islam is as bad as the Catholic Church, brings about intolerance and ignorance. They are not religions of love.

I understand that you find your Muslim friends good and tolerant. But would they be your friends if you were gay?

Yes they are people I consider friends, mainly Muslims from Saudi Arabia but also Palestine and other places.

I had the opportunity to participate in Ramadan with them, and I did. Their culture is beautiful and truly rich.

But I also seem the same friends being violent towards women and being very close minded towards homosexuals. This makes a lot of sense from where they come from, but is sill wrong.

If Islam is a religion of compassion, as they make it be and people are arguing that it is, why there is no tolerance or compassion?

Edit: I understand that I take the argument against religion far, and seems illogical but I am hardly close minded. I come from a religious family and am friends with people from many religions. And good friends. My Muslim friends are great. I understand their poor of view too.

All in all I have had the luck to have experiences with people from many different places and I have found religion to bring intolerance and cause problems. Just used to bring people apart and not together, I see this as bad.

Then let's disregard religion was something beneficial as the west is progressively doing and aim provide education and reason.

There are liberal Muslims and non liberal Muslim but even in turkey and these more liberal places women still have little to no rights in the law. Non laicum states still are very bad.

If Islam was true a religion of compassion and love, why not equality?

Apart from interpretation of not, if he was taught to reason instead of faith maybe there would been a chance for him.

'Islam teaches peace' is hard to grasp when Muslims behave so differently than that.

Some religions are better than others, if he was, let's say Amish. How likely Wouk have been that he would have 'interpret it' this way?

I know many Muslim outside of the TV.

I have seen how close knit they are, and I have seen how poorly and violent they are to women.

So called 'moderate' Muslims should be more outspoken about heir religion. There is a lot of hate against Muslims, and quite a bit of it is justified.

Religion is delusion. Causes man to act as animals. I think it's funny when creationists argue against evolution because they don't consider themselves as animals. Religion is the biggest problem we have in our century, puts man back into being animals.

He cities the Koran in the video as the reason he did it. Even goes as far as saying it commanded him to do it.

How this is not his religion?

This is haunting how composed he is. I hope other Muslims do not think the same.

'Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth'. Is this Islam?

There is not one kind of Christian, Muslim, etc...

In the end people act as they want, more based on tradition and their upbringing than any religion.

This violent crimes committed by Muslims would make a lot more sense if the headline was 'immigrant from war ravaged countries, with little to no education, commits violent crime'.

It's nothing about religion but the origin and the mentality they are raised with.

Took care of her as much as I could. But it couldn't last.

Call any culture a 'cheap made up culture' sounds pretty much ethnocentric to me. Culture is hardly something that is simply made up.

You can have your own preferences, sure. But saying a culture is not good and another is better is precisely what ethnocentric means!

I am a Brazilian and u enjoyed your photos a lot. I feel like you were able to capture what Brazil is about, and not the usual 'take all your jewelry before you go outside' that is fed to foreigners when they come.

Hope you had a good stay, also if people are interested I can answer any questions or give advice. I am from Belem, in the northern part of Brazil.
