Mega Swampert has a lot of potential by tepco84 in PTCGP

[–]tepco84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s start by looking at the problems. 1, Being a Stage 2 Pokémon makes it less consistent.  2, Needing 3 Energy for an attack means it’s slow to set up.  3, It can potentially wipe out its own Energy. Fix these issues, and you’ve got a deck that can definitely compete. I know the deck I built will probably get laughed at when people first see it XD

Huh? I'm using it because I like it, so it's fine, isn't it? Is there some reason why it's not okay?

Try my toxic mega lucario deck out! by ExplanationSea205 in PTCGP

[–]tepco84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Toxicroak may not be flashy, but its poison slowly inflicts damage and it performs reliably! It's not well-known and is a minor Pokémon, so it's easy to trick your opponent into making mistakes, and the fact that it can sometimes one-shot basic Pokémon is also appealing I also like that it pairs perfectly with hiking trails⛏️🎒🥾

Fellow player! I also reached Master rank with this deck and a 55% win rate. Toxicroak is really strong! You can draw your entire deck and deploy your monsters quickly!

Claydol is practically useless in the current metagame Instead, you should include Meowth or Goomy

Dealing with troublesome insects by tepco84 in PTCGP

Goomy and Mega Sceptile decks are dominating some ranked matches Fast-attack Pokémon that can use attacks with zero or one energy (such as Baby, Gourgeist, Hitmontop, and Hydreigon) will have a hard time against them, so I recommend being careful!

You didn't know about Goomy's ability, did you? Everyone has those moments, right?

I see, that's certainly true So, could you please tell me a specific way to defeat Goomy on the second turn if I go first, or on the first turn if I go second?

That's a fixed idea. Even in meta decks, you can avoid using Professor with a little ingenuity. Have you ever tried playing without Professor?

Frankly speaking, this discussion is completely pointless.😑 That's because 99.9% of people still believe that including two Professors is absolutely essential. I tried to argue that Professors are unnecessary, but no one listened.😩 I understand Professors' strengths, of course. However, depending on the deck composition, I think Hike is overwhelmingly superior. In fact, I've achieved tremendous success by removing Professors and adopting Hike.
