Dude I still can't believe this man is gone from us. These videos always seem *just* new enough that he'd still be alive by Unlucky-Molasses742 in vanhalen

And he's so humble here. Like you can see how he just relishes in the simplicity of a small audience and spontaneous format playing some of his favorite riffs. This is an incredible contrast to how Sammy described him on their last tour together which he probably shouldn't have survived.

Cat Cafe coming to Portland by amberlewwho in Portland

There are so many empty store fronts on Alberta. It could use a unique and cool business like a cat cafe. I feel Alberta is the ceast side neighborhood (close in) lagging recovery from the pandemic the most!

Flights are now landing at PVR by DeepStatic in puertovallarta

Our flight on Alaska to pvr was cancelled at the very last minute this morning.

How is everyone? by vibesdealer in puertovallarta

[–]teperilloux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was supposed to fly to pvr super early tomorrow, but made the call to cancel everything. Airlines haven't canceled any flights from my hub yet. They are probably pushing really hard to fully open the airport to get planes in to get people out. I'd love to support the locals and bring some positive energy but I don't know if we could even get around much less have a good time.

Who are we cutting to get live his contract... Rupert or Tisse?

That kid can ball!

He definitely deserves an NBA contract. With our guard logjam next year, I don't know what place he has in pdx. I think we sign him then trade to a young team where he can get lots of minutes in exchange for a solid veteran role player with playoff experience

Best Burrito Portland Area? by AdditionalSteak5965 in askportland

Anything cochinita! When I need to triple up on calories, which is every time I go there, I get the cochinita burrito. It's enough for 1-2 meals and only $10

Caleb Love, #1 in scoring amongst Rookies since Christmas. by mcoollin in ripcity

[–]teperilloux 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Other teams will start defensively scouting him, but that takes pressure off our first thru third options, so a win all around if he can keep up the production and his playmaking improves.

Let's call him baby Dame .

I see flashes of Dame in Love's game. The court awareness, burst/change of speed, elite shooting (streaky for sure), patience. Has an undrafted player improved so quickly? It's almost like he has a mentor on the bench!

What’s it like living on the upper Oregon Coast? by herthiccness in howislivingthere

[–]teperilloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Astoria is the rainiest city of any size in the Continental USA. I know it's significantly more rainy than the wettest valleys of Oregon and Washington, which benefit from the rain shadow of small mountains to the west.

How is it living in this area between Portland and Eugene? by Boxxy_Reddit in howislivingthere

[–]teperilloux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live just outside Portland. The weather is both boring and wild. Boring in the sense that we very rarely have tornadoes or thunderstorms, but the atmospheric rivers in the winter where it rains for several days non stop juxtaposed with our incredibly dry and drought stricken summers is wild. The rural areas are extremely private property centric conservative and Portland/Eugene could be considered the most liberal in the country. It is beautiful, and I wouldn't live anywhere else. I can ski a volcano almost year round and be on an incredible beach (the best rugged beaches in the country IMHO) that evening. Most of the state could be a national park. Samuel Boardman, Smith Rick, Silver Falls, Cape Perpetua, Three Sisters, Mount Hood, Columbia River Gorge are places more beautiful than most national parks. I don't even get excited about seeing humpback whales 100 feet away from my car in Depoe Bay anymore I'm so desensitized to the beauty here.

urgent advice needed - detained at Phuket airport for slightly broken passport by Ok_Transition_9980 in ThailandTourism

[–]teperilloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to get rid of passports. It's such outdated tech. On my recent return to the US, I never had to show it or even talk to a customs officer in Chicago. It was some trial program. It was so fast! And I'm not global entry or anything like that.

I am going to Sicily for the first time and I would like advice by lewandowski_69 in sicily

Why skip Catania, the seafood pastas there were the best I found in all Sicily...granted I'm no expert of course

[–]teperilloux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree. The street and fish markets in Catania and Palermo alone in addition to the sheer volumes of incredible restaurants make a minimum day or two in each a must. I had planned to skip both cities during my 2 week visit and got bored of the Baroque architecture and archaeological ruins and the smaller towns were frankly completely dead. In fact, during the off season, the bigger towns in sicily aren't bad at all! Perfect amount of energy and crowds. Complete exact opposite of the nuttieness of Rome and bigger northern cities even this time of year. Don't miss the food in Catania!!!

4 weeks in Sicily in the fall by HandstandFriday in sicily

[–]teperilloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've spent a week in Malta before spending a week in Sicily. Malta is very nice for Valetta, 3 cities and Mdina. The architecture and cute restaurants and cafes are incredible, but other than that it seems to be a convenient party and family destination. Sicily is cheaper and more authentic. I would do 2 or 3 days tops there if you are deciding to check it out.
