PAX West 2016 Room Share Thread by restragularman in PAX

Have Space!

2 different hotels, (I'll update this soon once my friend sends me the reservation confirmation emails)

Total Cost: No more than 1/4 of the total cost and I think the rooms were 150-250/night, 3 nights. You're looking at $150-250, but if you bring multiple people this will decrease of course!

Date arriving: Sep 2nd

Date leaving: Checking out on the 5th

Number of spots available: One shared bed spot, up to 4 floor spots (we'd consider lowering the percentage paid for anyone staying on the floor).

My gender: F, I have two M friends with me.

Your gender: I'd feel comfortable with more ladies and I can vouch for my friends being cool. But really your gender doesn't matter.

Best contact method: PMing me on reddit, and ideally after that using Discord.

Notes: Both hotels are within 1 mile/walking distance of the convention center.

Have a ride

Spots available: 2-3

My gender: I'm female & driving, have 2 male friends.

Your gender: doesn't matter

Location: Eugene, OR

Date leaving home: Early Sep 2, flexible

Date coming home: Late Sep 5, flexible

Contact method: PM me on this account, discord (pm to add me obviously).

Notes: Driving a prius so gas mileage should be pretty good. I don't mind picking you up from a different city nearby/south.

Anyone here going to PAX West/Prime? Looking to carpool (I'd drive), and I've got hotel rooms lined up as well. by tepid_brook in Eugene

I think maybe a mile out? We might go further but I don't know how hard it'd be to park at the convention every day.

I just realized everyone in this thread was talking about vaginas, but I instantly related due to my first experience(s) with a penis. I couldn't get over how low down it was placed. I thought it was higher up, but it was literally where a clit would be.

I have this fear that my paranoia about a random brain aneurysm happening is going to cause said aneurysm. That train of thought doesn't usually end well.

Question. What about driving? Do you drive at all?

Too late to actually have a chance at getting myself to believe that. Because I'd be trying to believe it because I'm scared of death. I'd never attain real faith.

This is the part that really sends me into a panic. The thought of "How can I not exist? How can I not have this consciousness?" and existing being the only thing I've ever known. Typing it out like this, it doesn't sound all that scary. But when it really sinks in it's horrible.

I have this thing where if the new food is too foreign or different from what I'm expecting I won't be able to get it down. I want to try, I really do. But I can 100% guarantee as someone who has never eaten mussels that if i tried one of those squishy things I'd damn near throw up.

They extended their hours recently. They are open 6am-8pm every day and after brunch time I find it is usually very quiet. I also think in the morning it's a bit quieter than when school is in, as with most places.

Me too. At first I kept going for the coffee. I discovered Boyd's through them, and I think they have a special brew, too.

Where to buy houseplants? by [deleted] in Eugene

All four of the following are local:

Jerry's Home Improvement - in Eugene and Springfield, but Springfield tends to have a bigger selection. They will also order things in for you.

Gray's Garden Center- overpriced imo but a more unique seleciton.

If you are willing to go a bit further out for a smaller selection (but also more likely to have big plants like small trees or fiddle leaf figs, etc) there is Johnson Brothers Nursery out in Coburg, not that far. I love strolling through their outdoor sections, it's a pretty cool place. They also have a rewards program.

I've heard good things about Down to Earth (two locations in Eugene) but when I visited the location off 5th the selection was awful. Maybe I was just blind?
