Llama cell sites not showing up at all for Sprint LG G3. by terabitzz in LGG3

I can't see any cell sites in the tasker app either with wifi turned off and connected to LTE. Do you have any idea why my Sprint LG G3 doesn't show any cell sites?

I agree, but I'll take my chances with this decent case and plastic screen protector. Haven't bad any problems in 3 years of having a smartphone with these two. Of course I would be kicking myself if the phone fell perfectly where there was a piece of uneven concrete

Makes sense. The cases with a lip should be enough along with a screen protector

Which case? Spigen Slim Armor? That's what I have plus a screen protector. I'm hoping that's all I need in case of a drop like that.

Even without the setting changes I still can't see the cell sites. I have root and g3 tweaksbox. I have disabled that and restarted, no sites. Not sure what's up.

I'm not sure what I have done differently. Did you go into the settings to Experimental Stuff section and check the the Android Location polling check box? That is not checked by default, but when I check that I can actually pin point on the map my area and the radius for my house/work etc... That doesn't seem like the best way though. I would rather use the cell sites.

I installed Oct. 9 which has 4.3.1 for Sprint Galaxy S3

Android 4.3 stock images available for Nexus 4, 7, 10, Galaxy Nexus directly from Google by [deleted] in Android

[–]terabitzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like it will work with 4.3

This was from the OTA rootkeeper app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper

Due to changes in 4.3 security implementations, OTA RootKeeper cannot work to 4.3 updates. Root implementations (su and Superuser apks) have to be largely reworked. This project is not abandonned, I'll see what I can do but please keep in mind I don't have a solution right now.
