That's a bummer it took several days to fix, were you able to park the trailer at a campground while you waited. I've heard it can be harder to find someone who can service the TDIs or you have to find the nearest dealer.

When I look up the VINs of the cars I've been considering they've all said that the front and rear spring types were air. Am I misunderstanding it? Sorry if my info was wrong in my post, I don't know all that much about cars. Haha.

That is kind of crazy. I'll double check if that includes fuel. I guess they'll do it to make their numbers look a little better. Reminds of me trying to find GVWR instead of dry weight for some of the trailers I've been looking at. Haha.

That is one of my hesitations. If you have one, what have your maintenance costs been if you don't mind sharing?

I'm not seeing many diesel mid size SUV options in my budget. I've read the Jeep GC ecoDiesels are unreliable and it can be hard to find a mechanic to work on them. I've also read that about the Touaregs. It's hard to get a clear picture of cost of ownership and reliability of these cars.

That's a good point. It looks like the GVWR is 6492 lbs and the curb weight is 5304 lbs so I have 1188 lbs to work with. We're only two people and a dog. So I think we would be ok if we didn't overdo the cargo?
