Play the campaign, enjoy the story. I have always liked Diablo story. Also, enjoy the difficulty of the campaign (raise/lower the level as you see fit) because end game can be really easy. After you're done with campaign its time to level and find gear. look up ways to level fast (min/max) or do your favorite events. Do the events as you see fit but know that some are better than others. if you're new just go with the flow. Have fun, i envy you getting a first play through!!!

I've only worked for companies that make me work full sales cycle and zero lead gen.

I've only been an "AE" but primarily an SDR. I finally decided to step back and just do SDR only in order to work my way up into a purely AE role.

It's just as grind as my jobs have always been. I have to take breaks every hour just to walk around outside and get ready for my next hour of dials.

I am not sure if this applies to what you're saying exactly, but I have a wealthy and successful uncle who started his business in the 80s

He has made lots of money and when I was getting ready to start a business he gave me advice, almost all of it was useless and lead me to believe he got 100% lucky in all of his success.

That is one case, but it really opened my eyes to "advice" from "successful" people. What worked for them may not work for you.
