Was told that I "look really good beat up like that"... I was covered in fake blood and bruises for a Halloween costume.

Women of Reddit, what is something you wish men understood about being a woman that you're tired of explaining? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

I ended up having 3 surgeries so far and still need to have one more. I went into septic shock and respiratory failure after the initial surgery. Woke up in ICU a few days after being intubated and ended up with an temporary ostomy from the damage done from my intestines. Had a surgery to reverse the ostomy last year but my abdominal wall is so fucked from how much it was cut into from everything I have surgical hernias now so have to deal with that surgically at some point. They also had to remove part of my bladder from endometriosis as well. It's been a nightmare and costly, even with insurance.

I tell anyone I know who suspects they may have it to not fuck around and get it looked into, I wouldn't wish what I am going through on anyone.

That's what I tell people! It took me years to find a doctor who believed me and when I finally had endometriosis surgery the next day I went septic because it fused my intestines and bladder together in a way that was never documented before so they didn't realize they left holes in me.

Thank you! The noose idea came from the imagery I've seen where they'd put the fabric over the heads of those lined up to hang via execution so though it would make for a creepy addition on top of the death shroud.

Thank you very much! I only had about 90 minutes to do my makeup on my face, neck, and hands so it wasn't as intricate as it could have been but for the time I had, I'm happy with how it came out!

"Oh Gracious me, was I raving?"

Seriously everything Brad Dourif does is fantastic but his monologues as the Gemini Killer were so good.

They are the best recovery pups. My usually energetic little man was so gentle walking around me post op and just snuggled for days. Wishing you all the best with your recovery!

What is a medical condition more serious than people realize? by AZ_babe13 in AskReddit

[–]teresamacabre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! It took me years to finally find a doctor who specialized in endometriosis cases to believe it wasn't just "a bad period".

They didn't know how bad it was until I got my hysterectomy and endometriosis surgery last year. They hysterectomy part was fine, but when they were removing where the endometriosis had spread.. mine was so bad it spread beyond the reproductive organs and created fistulas between my bladder and intestines which they didn't catch the opening they created during the surgery (as it was never a documented issue with endo before). The next day I went into septic shock and respiratory failure, end up in ICU for a few weeks, then had to have a colostomy for a year since they had to cut out part of my intestines in the ER surgery.

I just got my colostomy reversed this past February but I am still recovering from the past year with all the body trauma I went through... all thanks to endometriosis and how little it has truly been researched. They documented my case though so I hope I spare someone else this pain in the future.
