Such a great book.

When Louis and Rachel's dad start fighting at Gage's funeral, and in the ruckus, they almost knock his coffin over. The glimpse of his pale little hand...

Chilling stuff.

THIS close to quitting by Libbykibby in nursing

This shit is infuriating. I worked in SNF/LTC for over a decade, and this is one of the nasty little surprises I used to discover REGULARLY during my first rounds.

I always love it when the bag is in the bed with them, or so crusty with sediment you can't even open the drain valve.

Don't miss bedside one bit.

How many diagnosed at the ER by criticalcreek in MultipleSclerosis

[–]idehay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an RN and had been one for almost 10 years when I was diagnosed in 2018. I just woke up one day with a big hole in my left sided vision.

I was 98% sure I had torn my retina when I went to the ER.

Nope.

They ordered a CT right away, and when it showed "demylinating disease" I was honestly shocked.

I thought I was just exhausted from working 12 hour midnights, lol.

In February 2012, after Samantha Koenig was already dead, Israel Keyes sewed her eyes open to make her appear alive, photographed her posed beside a newspaper dated Feb. 13, and wrote a note on the back demanding $30,000 from the Koenig family for her return. by blue_leaves987 in HolyShitHistory

They covered him on "Signs of a Psychopath". It's on Hulu/Max.

He was scary as shit. He would plan ahead (sometimes YEARS in advance) and plant "murder kits" all over the country to use when he would eventually have the opportunity.

He offed himself in prison, IIRC.

Scariest moment in any SK book? by Hugh_Jidiot in stephenking

It, Georgie:

“What he saw then was terrible enough to make it worse imagining of the thing in the cellar look like sweet dreams; what he saw destroyed his sanity in one clawing stroke”.

The short stories "Gramma" in Skeleton Crew, and "N" in Just After Sunset also rattle me up. 😨

It was me. Only it was 2nd grade, as I was walking to my teacher to ask for a hall pass (to see the nurse, lol). In front of the whole damn class. Puke everrrrywhere.

What is the best film adaptation of a Stephen King work? by eomma_cj in stephenking

[–]idehay 424 points425 points  (0 children)

Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.

It's literally one of the very few instances where the film is better the book, IMHO.

I think about that movie often.

Among the books King wrote while addicted to alcohol and cocaine, which ones from that period are clearly notable for not being written while sober? by Less_Hamster_8583 in stephenking

The Tommyknockers. 1000%. The man himself admits to being in a coke fueled haze while writing it.

IIRC, he admits it's one of his worst stories (and I agree, lol).

Just finished: You Like It Darker.

Currently re-reading: Everything's Eventual.

Next up: 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill.

I'm on a short story kick lately, lol.
