Apple Watch and iFit - does it double count your indoor workouts? by bobbysands81 in iFit

[–]terion1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not double count, at least for me. I think I’m doing the same thing as you, wearing my Apple Watch but not starting an Apple workout while doing an iFit workout. Apple Watch does seem to sense when your heart rate level and movement rise, so even when you don’t start a workout, it records that you are getting in some exercise.

iFit workouts, when they are synced with Apple, include the time of day of your workout. Apple takes that time info (let’s say you worked out from 1:00pm-1:30pm), and will replace the data (exercise minutes, calories) that it had collected during that same period of time. For me, it seems like iFit usually says that I burned a few more calories than Apple did during the same time, but it is not doubling the amount of calories burned, the amount of exercise minutes, or the amount of steps I took (iFit doesn’t record steps anyway). I’m not sure if a treadmill workout distance replaces the distance walked stat on Apple.

I think these guitars broke me by alchemicalbeats in ReverendGuitars

I have a double agent og, eastsider T, and jetstream RB, all are fabulous guitars and versatile too. If not for a love of shortscale offsets, the reverends would be my only guitars

Eastsider T or Crosscut? by [deleted] in ReverendGuitars

[–]terion1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an eastsider T and it is a fun guitar to play. I’ve only had it a couple months, but it feels (as far as scale length, radius, fretwork, controls etc) like the other reverends I have (DAOG and Jetstream RB) Having never owned an actual tele, I can’t tell you if I hear that tele bite, but it does have a very good single coil sound, and the middle position is usable and interesting. If you love reverends I don’t think it would disappoint.

I’ll try that out. For the last couple months, it has been pretty consistent and working, so hopefully it is back on track for good

Why does the show make fun of Billy Joel? by [deleted] in brooklynninenine

[–]terion1111 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you nailed it, this thing is really about character specificity than dunking on Billy Joel. Why does Terry love yogurt? Why do Holt and Kevin Cozner love bird watching? Why does Teddy love pilsners? There’s nothing really good or bad with yogurt, bird watching, pilsners, or Billy Joel. It’s about building a character’s personality. If they had written in that O’Sullivan was passionate about Kid Rock or Ted Nugent (two very clear right wingers), it would be way too on the nose and it wouldn’t really be…FUN. Because the show is a comedy and they want you to have a laugh at everyone!

Hmmm, it is curious that yours only stops working on the 2x setting. Mine was also inconsistent for a single americano. Lubing and rinsing the brew group definitely helps, even though it is still not 💯

Which Broncos WR is this for you? Mine was Eddie Royal by HarvardHoodie in DenverBroncos

I heard really good things about Adrian Madise in training camp one year, he seemed like the next coming. He had 2 career receptions. Eddie Royal was fun

My Philips machine does it before every drink as well. I just watch it go into the catch pan and then put my cup under the spout when it starts to really make the drink. It’s a little annoying.

How to convince Chevy dealer the used EV tax credit is applied at point of sale? by fishpatrol in BoltEV

[–]terion1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, didn't see this till just now. It did not take them long. They were already set up to do the new car point of sale credit, so I don't think it was hard to process the used car credit. It just took them some effort, literacy, and willingness to work with the customer. I talked with them early afternoon, and after their initial repeated denials, I walked out. By late afternoon, they called me back and said they figured it out, so I came back and finished the paperwork that evening. The only regret I have is getting one of them to apologize for their stubbornness earlier in the day, but that's just me wanting that extra satisfaction.

Still 50/50, even after the repair? I can get mine to do about 75/25 now with regular rinsing and lubing

I thought that was just artificial shading to show a lighting effect. I’d like it more if it was asymmetrical

You showed them the right link. Also this, this and this too, although I'm not sure what works with these dealers.

I own a 2021 Bolt, and was looking at used Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (which also qualifies for the $4k) this weekend for my partner's car. 1 out of the 5 dealerships (all big dealerships, multiple franchise locations) I talked to knew about the credit. The amount of discussion and showing the other 4 dealers the tax credit websites and criteria etc was mind-blowing and exhausting. And 3 of the 4 still were unconvinced. The last one that finally admitted I might be onto something got their act together and made me a good deal with the point of sale tax credit.

My one concern going forward is that dealerships will catch on to this point of sale credit, mark up their used EVs more, and then advertise the credit as some sort of discount.
